LOS ANGELES—An edited version of the independent film Marriage 2.0 has received an NC-17 Rating from the Motion Picture Association of America’s Classification and Rating Administration, paving the way for the film to reach a broader audience. Produced by LionReach Productions and distributed by Adam & Eve, Marriage 2.0 features compelling sexual performances from adult stars, demonstrating the depth of human relationships and emotions.
The rating, which bars children 17 and under to be admitted, allows the film to be viewed by a larger audience than would have been possible under an X rating, generally reserved for motion pictures with adult or explicit content.
“We are very pleased with the NC-17 Rating from the MPAA. It’s an affirmation of our mission of producing an independent film that contains explicit sex, but is driven by dramatic narrative,” said Marriage 2.0 screenwriter and producer Magnus Sullivan. “Marriage 2.0 is a new kind of film bridging adult and mainstream cinema. It’s truly a marriage of independent cinema and adult films that creates a realistic and compelling story about a couple searching to redefine the model for a ‘successful’ relationship.”

Under MPAA rules, the NC-17 Rating requires the filmmakers to exhibit the version of the film submitted to the organization, they must also submit all advertising and publicity materials to the MPAA for approval. The rating must also be displayed on all prints of the film and on all publicity, advertising and press materials.
Gareth May, a contributing writer for British lifestyle and culture site TheDebrief.co.uk, described Marriage 2.0 as “a potential game changer for the porn industry.” May wrote, “There are some great performances in the movie. India Summer especially excels, and Nina Hartley’s brief role shows she clearly has comedic timing and talent.”
“The movie is most remarkable for its limited use of hardcore sex…Marriage 2.0 is a very different kind of porn film,” added May.
Marriage 2.0 features performances from adult entertainment stars such as India Summer, Ryan Driller, Dylan Ryan, Nina Hartley, and Mickey Mod, along with appearances from internationally renowned sex and relationship experts, such as Emily Morse and Reid Mihalko. The film follows a couple (India Summer and Ryan Driller) on their search for personal freedom, as well as emotional and sexual bliss within the context of an honest and committed modern relationship.
Marriage 2.0 delves into the nature of commitment and relationships by weaving hardcore sex into a compelling, touching, and controversial narrative, which ultimately drives a film that challenges the portrayal of sex in cinema.
The un-rated version of the film, which received the Best Narrative award at New York’s CineKink Film Festival last week, premiered February 26 on AdamandEveTV.com, an Adam & Eve property powered by GameLink.com. For more information about Marriage 2.0, visit marriage2point0movie.com.
