Director Manuel Ferrara will no longer be producing videos through Platinum X Pictures but will instead be releasing all of his videos through sister company Red Light District.
“I love Platinum X and I am grateful to them for giving me my chance but this is the best way to have the most people see my movies,” Ferrara told AVN.com.
Ferrara was one of the five charter directors with Platinum X. The others included Jewel De’Nyle, Steve Holmes, Brandon Iron and Michael Stefano. Other directors with the company include Julian, Mason and Sean Michaels. Ferrara has directed the I’m Your Slut and Euro Girls Never Say No series with Holmes for the company, along with the recent AVN Editor’s Choice video, Anal Expedition.
“I have really enjoyed being with Manuel and I can say that on a personal basis that we will miss him,” Platinum X Pictures’ Larry Schwarz said of Ferrara’s departure. “He’s a fine young man and he’s an outstanding, young performer. One thing I am happy about is that he is moving within the family, a well-established company with a great reputation, Red Light District, and of course, we will still have him do scenes in our movies.”
“Manuel spoke to me about coming over here and we agreed it was a good idea,” Red Light District head Dion Giarrusso said of the change. “Platinum X is a new company and they have good numbers but they need to put in the time to have what we have at Red Light.”
“They are all still my friends and I have enjoyed working with them,” Ferrara said of his fellow Platinum X directors.
