Maddy O'Reilly to Make Solo Directing Debut for Deviant

LOS ANGELES—Starlet Maddy O'Reilly's rise to industry powerhouse status continues with her first solo venture into movie directing, Maddy O'Reilly's Submission, going into production Wednesday for Metro label Deviant Entertainment.

Having gotten her toes wet behind the camera with her own just-released star showcase for Elegant Angel Productions, Maddy O'Reilly Is Slutwoman, which she co-directed with MimeFreak, O'Reilly takes the reins fully with Submission, in which she will only perform one scene, remaining in the director's chair for the other three slated. And what a formidable lineup she's assembled for those three slots: Skin Diamond, Veruca James and Dahlia Sky.

"I've been wanting to direct since I first came into the business," O'Reilly told AVN. "I have so many crazy ideas, and I've always wanted to see them come to life on camera. So it's been a goal of mine ever since I started performing and knowing that I wanted to do this seriously."

Her experience co-helming Slutwoman was doubly stressful, she said, "because not only am I worrying about the performing side of it and delivering in all of my scenes, but also on the creative side as well, so it was like, that's a lot of pressure. For this one, I'm only in one scene, and then I get to sit back and direct everyone else, so I think it's a little less pressure, but at the same time, since it's my first time completely on my own, it's a little scary."

O'Reilly explained that it was her shared affinity with Deviant director and head of production A. Slayer for the more extreme that brought her there for her first time taking the wheel all by her lonesome. "I've shot with [Slayer] quite a few times, and we're into the exact same style of hardcore, very agressive shooting," she professed. "And I brought it up to him, I was like, 'This is what I want to do,' and he was like, 'We should talk.'"

Echoed Slayer, who will serve as director of photography on Submission, "Maddy and I have very similar tastes in what's hot in porn, and she has some really great ideas. It's her time to make the next step to directing those ideas. Deviant Entertainment is all about niche stuff that focuses on dominant, aggressive sex, and I know Maddy will not only deliver but push her actors as well."

From her description, that sounds like exactly what O'Reilly has in mind for this movie: "It's going to be crazy. [Slayer] is giving me pretty much free rein to do whatever I want, so I'm really stoked to push the limits as much as possible. It's going to be very extreme, dominant boy/girl sex. I'm very thankful that he's confident and giving me so much, I guess, power in a way."

Maddy O'Reilly's Submission is scheduled to arrive on the street in late May.

In the meantime, O'Reilly is chronicling her adventures making Slutwoman in a four-part blog series for Parts one and two are available to read now. Also, check out a photo gallery from Maddy O'Reilly Is Slutwoman here.
