CANOGA PARK, Calif. - Mercenary Pictures main man and multiple AVN Award-winner Lexington Steele appeared on the BET network's Sunday morning religious program 'Meet the Faith'. The episode, titled "The Sex Show (Sleeping with Stereotypes)", aired on July 8.
Steele's interview in the episode discussed black men in adult video and how they are tied to sexualized racial roles such as being over-sexed and over-endowed. He said he gains an advantage as a company owner and a performer by identifying, analyzing, repossessing and owning those stereotypes.
"The work we do in the adult industry isn't for everyone," Steele said. "I often make comparisons of A-list male and female talent being on par with professional athletes and how the requirements and the maintenance involved, in terms of mental and physical conditioning, are alike. For someone who came into the industry, as I did, after doing my research and who continually strives to bring the best to my scenes and the movies I produce, the adult industry is extremely rewarding."
Steele's appearance on BET follows his recent guest shot on Showtime's 'Weeds'. The acclaimed performer/director has also completed two pilots of his own: a talk show called 'Lexington Steele Live', and an as-yet-untitled reality program.
