LOS ANGELES—Adult performer Lana Rhoades told AVN Thursday she is preparing to shoot her first anal scene in a showcase movie for Greg Lansky’s Tushy imprint.
The 20-year-old starlet wants fans to know she is not retired, but is taking on select special projects as she enters the next phase of her career. She said she’ll begin shooting the five-scene, yet-to-be titled anal feature this weekend in Los Angeles.
“It’s going to have a little bit of everything in it,” Rhoades teased.
She’ll be doing her first anal sex scene with Jean Val Jean, her first D.P. with Mick Blue and Val Jean, her first IR anal with Isiah Maxwell, a girl/girl anal and a girl/girl/boy anal with Manuel Ferrara. The theme of the showcase will be loosely based on a popular mainstream film that came out this year, Rhoades revealed.
“I’m leaving tomorrow to start it and have to come back to L.A. multiple times until December to shoot the whole thing,” said Rhoades, who moved back to her native Chicago in August and took a break from porn. She has stayed active with photo shoots, promotional work and stripping.
“I’m not an L.A. person,” Rhoades admitted. “Obviously, I have to fly there to work but I only want to fly there for bigger projects like this. I’ve had other contract offers but I haven’t accepted any. I’m open to bigger features like this. But I don’t want to fly out there for a couple regular scenes.”
Rhoades started her porn career in April, doing dozens of scenes during a four-month stretch in which she was booked with several of the industry’s top studios as well as featured in photo spreads for Penthouse, Hustler and PlayboyPlus.com.
“Obviously at first it’s super fun and I was new and I was booked solid,” said Rhoades, who was the Penthouse Pet in August. “It was a lot of work and I really needed a little break to myself. Now I have this new project that I’m really excited about and I’m so happy.”
She said she probably would’ve changed a couple things about her whirlwind debut if she had it to do over, but “there’s nothing that I regret doing.”
“I wouldn’t have moved to L.A. I would’ve just traveled to L.A. for work, that was the main problem. … Otherwise I’m really happy with my experiences,” Rhoades added, thanking her fans for being loyal.
“I do think that I got popular really quickly. Some girls have to stay in the business longer for that. I’m really interactive with the fans on Twitter. I talk to them. I have some really strong fans that do a lot for me.”
She is currently booking her own work after beginning her career with Spiegler Girls. “There’s really no point for an agent right now,” Rhoades said. “It’s so easy to manage what I’m doing.”
Even though she will be making her debut for Greg Lansky’s AVN Award-winning Tushy studio, Rhoades is no stranger to shooting for the reigning Director of the Year. She has already shot two scenes for Tushy’s sister site, Blacked, and isn’t sweating her first anal encounter this weekend.
“To be honest, I’ve done it in my personal life so I’m not really worried about it,” she confessed.
Her D.P. is another matter.
“I’ve never done a D.P., so I’m a little bit worried but some other girls have told me it’s amazing,” she continued.
“I’m really happy that I got such a good offer to do this. I had multiple showcase offers. I talked to a few different people and took the best opportunity and I’m happy to have it. This will be good for my brand and my fans are going to love it.”
She’ll be getting naked with Jean Val Jean for the third time.
“I’m really excited to work with him again,” Rhoades said, noting that Lansky let her choose her male co-stars. “He’s one of the few male talent that I’m like really attracted to. We have all the top male performers in the movie.”
Lansky’s 2015 anal showcase, Being Riley, resulted in four 2016 AVN Awards for its leading lady, Riley Reid—including Best Star Showcase.
Rhoades is already weighing her options for her next project after this one.
“I have a few other offers that I’m going over,” she said. “I just don’t know what I want to do yet.”
Her Tushy anal showcase will be released sometime in 2017.
