LOS ANGELES — What started out with selling her worn panties online during the height of the pandemic has turned into an unexpected career for Kimmy Kimm.
Now a year-and-a-half later, the Korean American performer from the Peach State tells AVN that doing porn professionally “absolutely feels like I’m living a dream.”
“I’ve been able to travel so much more because I live in Georgia, so I go back and forth between Georgia and California and now I’m really starting to meet the other performers in the industry and get to know them,” Kimmy says. “I think that’s been the best part—is being able to meet all of these new people…
“I think I’m someone that has a lot of l love inside and I just want to give it. So I’m just a naturally very affectionate person and I think that kind of translates into this job perfectly.”
It’s clear the industry agrees.
Kimm rides into the summer with momentum, preparing to add to her 80-something credits since November 2020 with return booking dates with Brazzers and Team Skeet, among many others.
And now she is thinking bigger.
"I’m definitely doing this for as long as I can,” says the 23-year-old performer, who is represented by East Coast Talent. “At first I was hesitant to put my all into it but for the last six months I’ve been completely all in and I think it’s been teaching me a lot about accepting myself as well.
“It’s been a lot of fun. I really hope to do this for 10-plus years at least.”
Kimm worked in the restaurant industry for about six years before adult, starting out as a hostess and climbing the ladder to a management position at a Japanese hibachi spot. She also held down shifts at a martini bar and sushi restaurant.
“Then the restaurants were shut down and Georgia was the first state to cut off unemployment of any kind,” Kimmy explains. “At first I was selling panties online and then I started making videos in my panties and posting them.”
Then she found out about OnlyFans and also started posting videos on Pornhub. Not long after she met fellow performer Aria Banks through TikTok “and she was like, ‘Why don’t you just do porn?’
“And then I started speaking to her agent and that’s how I got into the industry.”
Kimm says the idea of selling her used panties hatched from a joking conversation with her roommates. She thought “no one’s gonna buy my dirty panties. But we found a website and ran with it.”
Kimmy admits she was taken back that so many admirers were interested in her panties and videos.
“I was just surprised that even though I was just a girl in Georgia filming myself on my phone that people were watching me,” she says.
Kimm met East Coast Talent’s John O’Byrne at Exxxotica Miami last summer, signing with his agency in November after taking a few months to think about it.
Now she says “being with an amazing agent can make all the difference.”
“Kimmy has shown enormous potential since we first began working with her,” O’Byrne tells AVN. “In addition to having that natural beauty that most big stars tend to have, I’ve received nothing but overwhelmingly positive feedback from all the studios, brands and talent she’s worked with.
“She’s always prepared and enthusiastic about her scenes. Kimmy just seems to continually exceed everyone’s expectations and set a new bar for herself every time she takes on another project. That attitude and professionalism, along with her stellar performances, are going to take her far in this industry.”
Born and raised in a suburb north of Atlanta, Kimmy says everyone back home knows she’s in adult.
“My family and my roommates obviously know very well and I’m really lucky to be able to have everyone’s support,” she says, adding that it wasn’t a total shock that she ventured into porn. “No, I think everyone kind of already expected it. I think I’ve always been a sexual person. And along with that whenever I was younger my parents put me into commercial acting and we did some commercial modeling as well, like beauty pageants.”
She describes herself as a “mutt”—her dad is Korean and her mom is a mix of Vietnamese, Chinese and Caucasian.
Kimmy keeps adding new highlights to her growing body of work but at press time said she loved the scene she did for Wankz VR called Pimpin’ Is Easy with Anne Amari and Alex Mack.
“It’s one of my favorites because of this group,” she says. “It was so fun.”
She also likes working for Missa X “because of their character development.”
“That’s been a lot of fun to start taking a more artistic look at porn, like theatrical,” she says.
Kimm says she’d like to work for Vixen Media Group’s all-girl studio, Slayed.
“I love the look of Slayed, I think their pictures are always really beautiful,” she says, adding that Lulu Chu is high on her list of performers with whom she would love to share a scene.
“We haven’t had a scene where we were partnered together but I was a sextra with them,” Kimm adds.
“Studio wise I do a lot of work for Adult Time but some of their sites I haven’t been on yet and I’d love to do all of them. Pure Taboo is definitely on my wishlist.”
A former gymnast and cheerleader, Kimmy also is the mother to eight cats.
“Pretty much all of them are either feral or strays that were rescued. They’re all different colors or kinds…It’s a lot of work, but it’s so worth it,” says Kimm, who enjoys going to the beach and doing yoga in her free time.
