SACRAMENTO, Calif.—Digital Playground contract star Kayden Kross will be reading her own original poems at Luna’s Cafe in downtown Sacramento this Thursday, April 21, as part of a showcase entitled "Poetry Unplugged."
Kayden will be joined by artists Becca Costello, David Houston, Xavier Altimiras and Frank Andrick, who has regularly hosted readings at Luna's in the past and edits the quarterly literary and visual arts journal WTF.
“Having published both Kayden Kross and Becca Costello in the past to great response, I can already sense a groundswell of curiosity and support for what both artists will do in taking the printed page to live stage,” Andrick said.
Kross says she’s excited to be back in her hometown, doing something she loves. “I'm looking forward to going back to Luna's. It was one of the best experiences I've had and I can't thank Frank Andrick enough for making this happen and for pushing me to keep going. I never would have had the balls to do this without him."
Thursday's event will be hosted by Geoffrey Neill, and is partially funded by Poets & Writers Inc., a nationally based literary agency that supports published writers. Check out www.pw.org for more information.
Besides poetry, Kayden also writes a monthly column for XBIZ called "The Dish," where readers get the inside scoop—along with a fresh perspective—on the porn biz from someone who knows.
“If you’ve read any of her blogs, you know that Kayden is educated and fabulous—and writing comes naturally to her,” said Digital Playground CEO Samantha Lewis. “Her poems range from funny to clever to poignant. She’s a perfect example of a bright, empowered woman, and I’m so proud of her.”
Kayden has won three Best Actress awards for the bestselling Digital Playground feature Body Heat and is currently starring alongside Jesse Jane in the critically-acclaimed new DP feature Top Guns. Luna's Cafe is located at 1414 16th Street. The event begins at 8pm.
