CHATSWORTH, Calif. - Adult video company K-Beech Inc. will street an HD DVD version of Mary Carey: Woman of the Year on Jan. 25.
A traditional DVD version was released in 2007, General Manager Jeff Snyder said, but the decision to reissue the title in the HD DVD format was made when the opportunity presented itself.
Dimension DVD, a leading provider of DVD authoring and post-production services for the adult industry, produced the DVD through its AVN Expo DVD Sponsorship Program, Snyder said.
"Dimension approached us about participating in the program, and we just wanted to see how the market would receive the format," he said.
Woman of the Year was chosen because of its proven appeal to a broad audience, specifically couples, Snyder added.
While K-Beech has shot all of its titles in high-definition in the past two years, this is the company's first HD DVD release.
"We have more than 60 titles shot in the HD format," Snyder said. "We could start re-releasing a different title each month, especially titles that are more directed toward couples."
A 25-year-old adult-video company, K-Beech comprises 15 studio lines: 818 XXX Productions, Baby Doll Pictures, Baby Doll Hardcore, Backend Productions, Dreamland Video, Erotic Angel, Erotic Men, Midnight Mayhem, Midnight Men, KB Releasing and Midnight Film & Video, Cherry Boxxx Pictures, Cherry Boxxx Explicit, Cherry Boxxx Black and Cherry X Productions.
