Joanna Angel Tells Stories of Bad Behavior November 4 in NYC

NEW YORK—On Thursday, November 4 from 8-10pm at Happy Ending in New York’s Lower Eastside, the monthly sex worker storytelling series the Red Umbrella Diaries will feature performances exploring the moral and ethical codes of people in the sex industry.

This month’s event features the multi-talented Joanna Angel, a performer, writer and creator of Burning Angel films, who also is known as the Queen of Punk Rock Porn. Angel has been honored multiple times as an Adult Video News Award winner, and is considered one of the founders of the alt porn movement.

Joining Joanna onstage will be Desiree Burch, a NYC-based comedian and emcee, Goldschwanz, a writer, artist and independent escort from Berlin, and Christine Macdonald, a writer and former exotic dancer from Hawai’I, and others.

The Red Umbrella Diaries is a monthly storytelling series, hosted by former sex worker Audacia Ray, where people who have tangled with the sex industry tell personal stories about the complications that arise when you mix sex and money. In addition to the live events in New York, the Red Umbrella Project includes a weekly podcast featuring stories from the live events, and a monthly blog carnival.

Happy Ending is located at 302 Broome Street between Eldridge and Forsyth.
