CHATSWORTH, Calif.—Joanna Angel, founder and star of the “alt-porn” site BurningAngel.com, has already established herself across multiple media, and this week she found herself expounding on the meaning of Christmas in yet another format—the iconic Page Six section of the New York Post newspaper.
As she explained in the article, which may be accessed at this link, the meaning of Christmas for the Corrupted by an Angel star is pretty simple. It’s her birthday. The punk-porn performer, who also has a career as a rock and roll recording artist, turns 37 on December 25.
“I’m Jewish so I don’t have to stress about Christmas like other people do. I always get to see my family or hang out with friends,” Angel told the Rupert Murdoch-owned tabloid. “I’m convinced that everybody’s really out celebrating my birthday and that’s what’s going on. That’s why everybody has the day off and is celebrating. It’s because they’re celebrating my birthday!”
She also told Page Six that she welcomes her time off during the holiday season because it allows her to get rested and ready for January’s AVN Adult Entertainment Expo, and the annual AVN Awards Show that caps off the expo.
Here’s how Page Six described the adult industry’s biggest event of the year: “Imagine Comic-Con, but replace Spider-Man, Princess Leia and Super Mario with porn stars, the latest and greatest sex toys, and everything else you could imagine when porn collides with its fans in the flesh,” Page Six columnist Michael Blaustein wrote.
The “latest and greatest sex toys” also earned Angel a feature on the FHM site, the online version of the British “lad mag,” in which she offers her recommendations for the top sex toy gifts for Christmas or, presumably, Hanukkah.
Perhaps not surprisingly, her number one pick to spread good cheer this holiday season—the The Joanna Angel Fleshlight, which she describes as “your very own portable version of me! Joanna Angel's vagina or tush. Use it for a fun threesome with your girlfriend or wife, or just keep it for yourself!”
And last (but not least) on the list, she suggests giving tickets to the “Oscars of porn”—the aforementioned AVN Awards Show.
