Joanna Angel Contributes Piece to Spring Issue of 'Flaunt'

LOS ANGELES—Director/performer/author Joanna Angel lends her writing talents to the Spring Fashion issue of L.A.-based Flaunt magazine with an erotic essay titled "The Mating Dance."

Dubbed "The Dawn Chorus Issue," the new edition of Flaunt revolves around a theme of avian attributes and metaphors in art, fashion and literature.

Angel's piece, subtitled "An Avian-Themed Libidinal Tease as Told by a Sex Industry Veteran and Author," compares the strip tease to the mating rituals of winged creatures.

"In a strip club, the customers watch the dancers on stage, moving their bodies around in such a captivating way," Angel writes, "like an early bird striving to catch the worm—in the nest that is their crotch."

Other contributors to the issue include French photographer Benoit Auguste, screenwriter/actress Hannah Bhuiya, and several other influencers from the art and fashion world.

"It's an honor to be a contrinutor to such an inconic magazine, amongst so many other incredible artists," Angel told AVN. "Being asked to write an 'avian sexual fantasy' was truly a unique assignment that I never in a million years would have expected to get asked to do, however I enjoyed flexing my literary muscles and I'm quite happy with how it came out! I hope everyone enjoys reading it. Especially ... the birds."
