Jewelz Blu on Flow Arts, EDM and Adult Performing

LOS ANGELES—When Jewelz Blu wants to spin, finding the right location is key.

A master of the flow arts whose dazzling fire fan performances light up the sky, Blu weaves her magic in tunnels, alleys and on secluded trails—among other spots off the beaten path.

She even put on a show for AVN in a dry riverbed near Montebello Park.

“I wanted to do something outdoors that was kind of grungy and industrial feeling,” Blu says. “I brought a speaker to play some music. That always helps set the vibe.”

Jewelz twirled fire fans and danced with her LED hula hoop as the sun went down in L.A. while GlitterFlick, aka Ashlee Juliet, snapped the action for an exclusive photoset.

Blu tells AVN she’s been spinning fire since 2016—and performing with props since 2014.

“It was definitely a big part of my life before I decided to join porn and I still do it now,” Blu says. “I was trying to get into the performing aspect of it. I used to go-go dance and I’ve performed at festivals before. I was still doing that last year, too.”’

A regular standout at EDM events, Blu entertained at Insomniac’s Nocturnal Wonderland in September 2019 in San Bernardino, Calif., and was a roaming costumed performer at Electric Daisy Carnival in May 2018 in Las Vegas.

She began to hone her spinning talents as a member of the color guard during her last two years of high school in Southern California.

“That kind of translated into my love of the flow arts, they’re very similar,” says Blu, who became adept at maneuvering flags before flirting with fire.

Blu achieved a goal in her journey as a performance artist earlier this year, when she spun fire during a scene called “Evil Tiki Babes” before hardcore sex with Ramon Nomar for Joanna Angel’s BurningAngel.com.

“When I started porn one of my ultimate goals besides making a name for myself was to combine both of my passions into one, and I actually have done that already with Burning Angel,” Blu says. “In the scene I was kind of like Joanna’s accomplice.”

Blu, who is represented by Motley Models, says she thought about doing porn for a while before making her debut in 2019.

“Porn was something I had always wanted to do,” she says. “I’ve been in other areas of the sex world. I used to be a Domme before porn and I felt like porn was the next step for me… I thought about it for a really long time. I thought I’m not getting any younger. I felt like the time is now.”

She dabbled on MyFreeCams when she turned 18.

“I was on and off with it. I didn’t know what I was doing and I didn’t really take it seriously,” Blu admits. “During that time I was creating content just for my Instagram, styling my own photoshoots. I would find photographers to shoot with. I shot with a lot different festival and rave clothing brands. I felt like all that helped me curate my content creation style and process.

“I like to get creative with what I do in general. I like to make it themed. I like to do fun things with lighting and just make it artsy. Because I think if you’re going to do it, you’ve gotta have fun with it and the fans notice it, too.”

Blu at press time had amassed 356,000-plus followers on her dreamy Instagram feed and 170,000-plus on Twitter—she has almost 90 adult performing credits for studios such as Naughty America, Nubiles, Team Skeet, Jules Jordan Video, Mofos, AmateurAllure and Blacked.com.

The self-styled “blue-haired mermaid slut” is the October Bang! Babe of the Month for Bang.com on the heels of being selected as the CherryPimps Cherry of the Month in September.

“We were very stoked when Jewelz reached out to us about joining the industry,” Motley Models president Dave Rock tells AVN. “She was already well established on social media as a EDM performer and her brand was all blue. Typically, we would never touch a model with blue hair. … However, after meeting Jewelz and recognizing what a talent she is, it was no-brainer to bring her aboard.”

Rock continues, “Since then she’s done nothing but impress everyone with her beautiful look, flawless skin and rockin’ bod. She’s professional, shows up on time, easy to work with and delivers dynamite scenes.

“She’s also a beast on social media creating some of the most unique and sexy content all by herself. She’s a true talent and has made a serious impact in this biz… Everyone knows Jewelz Blu.”

Motley Models talent agent Ryan Kona, who handles Blu’s scene bookings, tells AVN, “Nobody in the industry is quite as unique as her right now.”

“Her style makes her stand out from the crowd in the best possible way,” Kona says. “She’s so easy to work with. I couldn’t ask for a better model to represent.”

Kona says Blu has defied the conventional wisdom about performers sporting colored hair not being as easily booked.

“She’s really transcended that,” Kona says. “My general thought process is if a girl has a unique look and image that will work we should be 100% supportive of that and use that image and make the best out of it. … She’s so multitalented and smart and that makes me so happy that she’s getting the recognition that she’s deserves.”

Blu was thankful that Rock and Kona assured her she doesn’t need to change her appearance to fit a mold.

“I feel like we’re in a time now where anyone can be successful with any look they have if they really own it and make it a part of their brand,” Jewelz says.

She certainly has.

“Not that I thought I would not be successful, but I’m very thankful for my agency,” she continues. “I’m very thankful for my agent Ryan and having someone looking out for me and wanting to get me the best shoots. And just the fact that I’m just being me. I want to take things to the next level.

“I want things to be even bigger and better. I’m off to a really great start; I just love the industry.

“It’s cool that a lot of companies I’ve worked with are companies that haven’t worked with people with my look. I’m like ‘soft alt’—in the words of one of my friends. I don’t have the tattoos. It’s cool that companies have stepped out of their comfort zones a lot of times.

“I’m like the girl next door but from outer space.”

Blu reveals some of her favorite scenes include her first appearance on Brazzers with Small Hands, and her virtual reality scenes that include two for BadoinkVR, one for BabeVR and another where she plays Officer Jenny Pokemon in a parody for VRCosplayX.

“I love cosplay, I think I should do more of it,” she says. “My first BurningAngel scene, too; my Reality Kings scene with Lacy Lennon is one of my favorites as well. The energy was really good that day with her and Quinton James. We had great chemistry and great energy; and my CherryPimps Cherry of the Month scenes I think are really special. That was my first ever anything ‘of the month.’”

Jewelz continues, “I’ve also done some at-home scenes, too, that I’m really excited about. I did an at-home solo for Bang! that’s going to be coming out [in October] with Halloween vibes.”

One of Blu’s most memorable projects this year was her collaboration with @marinafini for a video she called “a vision through space and time.”

“She is an amazing artist and photographer,” Blu says. “If you’ve seen photos of the crazy psychedelic art in my cam room it’s all made by her. She’s an acrylic artist. She makes sick wall pieces and art installations and I only know of her because of Tumblr. I followed her on Tumblr way back when Tumblr was a big thing.

“I guess it was a fate that I got to work with her for a photoshoot for this clothing brand. … That whole shoot captured my essence entirely.”

Jewelz says her go-to genre of EDM is drum and bass, adding that lately she’s been into the sounds of British artist Sub Focus.

“I love my drum and bass. I have other favorites but that’s the one I don’t get tired of. I like to play it to get ready to make content. I like to spin fire to it as well,” she says.

Sometimes even when she goes long periods without spinning, the techniques always come back to her.

“I’m never going to forget how to do it,” she says. “If I haven’t done it in a while I could still pick it up. It’s a little scary but it’s a healthy amount of fear. You don’t want to get too cocky with it. If you do, then you end up getting burned.”

She says that someone who is just starting out should always have a spotter with a fire safety blanket nearby during sessions.

“And you don’t want to do it in dry brush areas. We don’t want any forest fires,” Blu adds.

When she thinks about what’s next for her in adult, she says there are a lot of firsts that she has yet to do.

“I can’t say exactly when but I do plan on doing an anal scene at some point in the near or far future,” Blu reveals. “I also hope to one day be involved in the creative process of scenes, maybe direct for a company in a scene that I’m in or have some creative control or input. I think that’d be really cool. I just see my brand growing from here on out. I’d also like to make merch for myself one day, too.”
