PARIS, France—On January 2, French producer Jacquie & Michel unveiled its parody of the mainstream thriller, Money Heist (La Casa de Papel), to the public. La Casa de Michel is the thirty-seventh movie from the company's studio Elite, but the real news is, the parody is the first of its productions to be aired on French television, thanks to a new and ambitious partnership with the Canal+ group.
The work, its means of production and its impact on French media represent a major turning point in the history of the French adult entertainment group. Since 2015, its investment in high budget pornographic movies has seen an undeniable success from the public and the critics, particularly beyond French borders. At the 2018 AVN Awards, Jacquie & Michel Elite studio earned three nominations for its movies, for Best Foreign Feature, and Best Director of a Foreign Feature and Best Sex Scene in a Foreign-Shot Production. For the 2019 Awards, the French studio aims for four trophies.

During the year 2018, the Canal+ group, the historic promoter of pornographic culture on French television, put its trust in J&M Elite studio to produce a movie to be broadcast in one of Canal+'s first adult slots of 2019. This production, parodying the world-acclaimed film Money Heist (La Casa de Papel), inaugurates what is expected to be a long-haul partnership with the channel, which had been impressed by the patent quality of the feature.
