IVD Goes Green with Hybrid SUV

HIGHTSTOWN, N.J. - Sales reps for IVD and East Coast News are now using a Ford Escape Hybrid SUV for road trips in lieu of the gas-guzzling V-8 cargo vans they used to drive.

"It's not just a cool car," said salesman Jay G. "It's doing something positive for the air we breathe, and the miles-per-gallon this truck gets is amazing! I can get to more sales meetings in the city - because I'm not constantly filling the tank. It's invaluable to me because I'm always on the road."

A press release from IVD cites stats about the vehicle's "stringent emissions standards" and "earth-friendly cloth fabric," as well as the simple truth that the Jersey Turnpike is a bitch.

IVD and ECN employees began using the vehicle two months ago for regular trips to NYC. Sales reps have also used the SUV to save gas money on trips up the New England coast and throughout the NJ/PA area.

Publicist Alex H. made note of the company's other ongoing efforts to save the environment: "Each of the three IVD warehouses (Van Nuys, CA, Hightstown, NJ, and Pembroke Park, FL) participates in major recycling efforts, from boxes, to paper, to cafeteria soda cans. In addition, several sales staffers carpool to work, and one salesperson drives his own eco-friendly Prius to work every day. Thanks to a successful pilot program, the hybrid SUV is part of the permanent sales fleet."
