TROMAVILLE, USA—Award-winning director Ivan, who's created both adult and mainstream horror features, has once again stepped outside the adult industry with his award-winning horror/comedy short series Roadside Killer, which is now available on Troma Films' streaming service. Troma, which has been creating iconic shlock horror classics like Toxic Avenger and Sgt. Kabukiman NYPD for 47 years and running, has joined forces with Ivan and Stanley Simmons, who plays the titular “Roadside Killer.”
The series was created and co-directed by long-time filmmaking partners John Gonzales and Slava Siderman (aka Ivan). It follows disgruntled roadside worker Simmons, who wears an adult diaper for his bladder issues and a gas mask because his urine stench is unbearable.
“I can’t believe after all these years and all this hard work on our projects, Stanley and the crew finally made it to Tromaville!" exclaimed Gonzales. "We are super excited and honored to have our horror schlock with the kings of the genre.”
The duo have already lensed 2.5 parts to the series, with the first part now streaming and more to come. Gonzales and Siderman have even discussed future additions to the series, as the story might at some point involve a love interest for the oh-so-lovable serial killer Simmons.
“What a way to start off my birthday month and somewhat of 2021," said Siderman. "I grew up on Toxic Avenger movies which made me who I am today. I am a fucking weirdo who loves super unique and surreal filmmaking. This is a perfect opportunity for our serial killer Stanley to meet the ultimate hero, Toxie.”
Those interested may check out a preview for both parts of the series on RoadsideKiller.com, and to stream for free for the first month, go to watch.Troma.com.
