A strip club ordered to close by the city last month remains open and continuing to operate.
Sugar’s Dancers was ordered to close in August after the city revoked its business license following a string of undercover operations that netted several arrests of exotic dancers on prostitution charges, WQAD-TV reported this week.
The club’s owner did not comment.
Police said they’ve received 170 calls for assistance from the club in the past two years, which led to undercover investigations in which at least three dancers were arrested and eventually pleaded guilty to prostitution charges.
Details of the investigation were outlined in the city’s nine-page letter to the club owner which ordered the business to close.
Neighboring business owners said they’ve grown tired of the club and the troubles surrounding it.
