Interview With Lolly Ink

The article ran in the July 2013 issue of AVN magazine.

With a series of personal images cascading down one arm and a pictorial collection of Japanese images on the other, it’s easy to see where Lolly Ink got her work name. More mature than the average newbie at 29, she prides herself on her work ethic (“I give 110% in my scenes.”) and has some candid comments on how tattoos affect performers seeking work.

The Basics:
Hometown: Murietta, California
Measurements: 5-foot-5, 110 lbs., 34DDD-24-33
Hair: Blond
Eyes: Blue

How did you start with this?

I was a glamor model for years, and I started doing implied nude modeling, and decided it was the right time. I’ve always been curious about the industry, and I’m single, and no kids, so I submitted my pictures to my first agency, and I got signed right away.

What did you do before this?

I was a hairstylist and a glamor model. I did some music videos and implied-nude modeling.

How many scenes have you done now?

17.

What's the best scene you've done so far?

It’s the one for Kevin Moore for Inked Angels. It’s a threesome with Mr. Pete and Romi Rain.

Who do you want to work with that you haven't worked with yet?

Definitely Christy Mack. She has tattoos like me, but she’s very feminine. She’s got the pin-up style, and I’ve always wanted to see what she’s like.

You said, “She has tattoos like me, but she’s very feminine.” Do you think tattoos make you look butch?

I think people get the wrong idea, because tattoos are typically taboo. Someone might think that a girl is wilder if she has tattoos. But we can be feminine. I did a scene with a girl with tattoos and she was...a bit rough. I like a girl who is softer and more feminine.

How is making videos different from what you thought?

I think it’s different for each company. With some videos it’s more dialogue, and with some companies it’s more real. They don’t really give you a script. I thought it was all totally scripted.

Do you like working in the adult industry?

I love it. I love sex, and I love acting as well. I’ve been modeling and acting since I was younger. One thing I love about sex is role-playing in my personal life. Now that I can do it on camera and make money...even better.

What's the biggest misconception outsiders have of the adult industry?

I was a mainstream model and it was harder to get work because I have tattoos. Going into adult I thought it would be accepted more. Unfortunately, it’s not. There are companies that do not hire girls with tattoos. There are agencies that won’t accept girls with tattoos. It’s limited me a lot.

Has anybody looked at you and said “I need you. You’ve got those great tats, we have to have you”?

Absolutely. Tattoos are starting to come back.

How long did it take you to get those tattoos?

The first [left] arm took a year and a half. The second one took six months. Everything on the left arm has a meaning. There’s a pair of dice, the word “Believe.” There’s a play gun with a flag coming out of it, roses, a heart—and that girl with the fishnets is an image of me when I was a dancer.

On your right arm, is that a carp?

It’s a koi. That’s a geisha girl.

I noticed Hello Kitty—is that your Japan arm?

Yes.

Did the same artist do the whole thing?

I cheated a couple of times, but I made sure they used the same ink.

Aside from your arms and shoulders, do you have any other tattoos?

No. [Pauses a beat.] Yes. I have a tramp stamp. A flower. I don’t see it that often.

What are your biggest turn-ons?

Confidence. I actually prefer a guy with no tattoos. I’m really big on personality. I can tell when a guy is truly into me, and when he’s not. It’s a real turn-on when I know a guy is really into me.

Describe your dream sexual scenario.

I’ve had it. I’m really into threesomes, and I think that Pete is one of the best performers I’ve worked with. I wasn’t disappointed. [Chuckle]

What's the most valuable life lesson you¹ve learned?

Don’t mix business and pleasure, because it’ll always get you in the end.

How would you spend your last day on earth?

I think I would be doing everything. Going to an amusement park, skydiving. I’ve always wanted to cliff-dive, scuba dive. I’m a risk-taker.

How would your best friends describe you?

They would say that I’m very reserved at first, shy, and then I’m very bubbly. I’m a personable person, and very loyal.

How do you spend your free time?

I’m definitely into Pilates, so any time that I get I’m always doing that. I’m very creative. I love making things, designing stuff. Interior decorating. I just moved, so I just did my whole apartment.

If you weren't doing this, what would you like to be doing?

Photography. I just have that eye. I see a beautiful picture and I’m totally into it. A lot of my older pictures were my idea and my concept, It was different from just a girl in a bikini.

Do you have a long-range plan?

No, but I definitely think it’s “get married and have kids” in the next five years. But if it doesn’t happen, it doesn’t happen.
