iDEA Announces Candidates for Board, New Site

The Independent Dealers of Entertainment Association (iDEA) has announced five candidates for the 2005 election for the Board of Trustees in addition to launching a new Website for members, www.idealink.org.

Four seats are up for election this year. The top three finishers will receive three-year appointments. The fourth-place candidate will serve the remaining year of the term of Todd Zaganiacz, who resigned from the Board.

The candidates were announced by iDEA Secretary Adrian Hickman. They are: Halsey Blake-Scott, C'ville Video, Charlottesville, Va.; Mike Frese, Movie Tymes, Holts Summit, Mo.; Christine Johansen, Crown Video and Tanning, Minneapolis, Minn.; Mark Nathanson, Video Horizons, Arlington, Va.; and Allan Welch, Video Village, Rockwall, Texas.

The new site presents value-added content of particular interest to independent video retailers in a visually attractive and easy-to-use format. The idealink.org Website replaces the pages on the Video Software Dealers Association (VSDA) Website, www.vsda.org, dedicated to the independent video retailer community.

“We’ve created a Website with a bright, fresh look that complements the new beginning that is iDEA, and that is intuitive for most retailers and easy to navigate,” said Terri Schumacher, chair of the iDEA Board of Trustees.
