Digital Playground went beyond bells and whistles for Virtual Sex with Jesse Jane, the latest installment of their award-winning interactive DVD series; but the mainstream media attention probably that series recently received probably helped the reportedly high out the door numbers even more.
The series was featured in a number of articles that dealt with the technological advances that adult entertainment has made, including stories in the New York Times and CNN, and Fox.
"Virtual Sex has mainstream recognition as the 'de facto standard' for the entire interactive sex genre." Adella, publicist for Digital Playground, told AVN.com. "The recent New York Times article has had an amazing effect, catapulting the series to new heights, generating additional media interests, all of which result in increased sales, both retail and wholesale."
One of the new features is Titty Sex, which allows the user to titty-fuck Digital Playground's contract performer Jesse Jane. Two of the features are basically the same – but for different parts of the body: The Titty Massage takes the user to footage of Jane having her breasts massaged, while the Ass Massage shows her ass being massaged.
The Cream Pie Orgasm is shown when Jane is in either a cowgirl or reverse cowgirl position. In reverse cowgirl, it can be viewed from both camera options provided, and in regular it can be viewed from only the second angle.
All of the aforementioned options, and the bells and whistles that have traditionally been used in the Virtual Sex series are accessible via your remote control by a numeric code that Digital Playground calls the Power Mode. An insert included with the guide lists the numbers and their corresponding position.
However, even with all of the technology, the main feature is still a real woman. The DVD opens with Jane welcoming the user. "Hi sexy, I'm Jesse. I've been dreaming about you. Are you ready to have some fun with me?" she asks in a sultry voice.
The user is then provided with four basic options: story, foreplay, strip, and sex.
The story option includes footage of Jane dancing in a suggestive manner as she talks about the loss of her virginity and a group sex encounter. Jane was green screened in front of a wall of fire.
Users can toggle back and forth between foreplay and sex options with the flick of a button, and position Jane in a number of ways to tailor the DVD to the users fantasy.
As with all of Digital Playground's Virtual Sex titles, Virtual Sex with Jesse Jane is directed by Joone, the creator of the series.
Titles from the Virtual Sex series have won the AVN Award for Best Interactive DVD for the last three years in a row.
