The Digital Playground/Adam & Eve release Pirates has been named one of Home Cinema Choice magazine's "Top 50 Greatest Import DVD's of All Time," receiving a cover mention and an insert in the June 2006 issue.
Pirates is the only adult DVD to make the list, coming in at No. 38. It ranks above such Hollywood hits as Godzilla and Clerks, and alongside T2, Kill Bill, Sin City, Batman and Legend.
Home Cinema Choice dedicated a 32-page supplement to the 50 movies that made the cut. In its review, Home Cinema Choice said, "[Pirates] is a rip-roaring swashbuckler punctuated by 10 trouser-tenting sex scenes in which Jolly Rogers get hoisted, main braces get spliced an some keels get well and truly hauled... In fact [Pirates] takes adult movies to a whole new level and it's a small wonder that Pirates won just about every 'adult' award going."
Additional kudos were given to the director Joone for his commitment to HD:
"[Digital Playground has] already given us two of the best HD features on disc, namely Island Fever 3 and Pirates."

Pirates stars Jesse Jane, Carmen Luvana, Janine, Teagan Presley, Devon, Austyn Moore and Jenaveve Jolie. It is available on a triple-disc set.
The movie earned 11 AVN awards at the 2006 ceremony in January.
