LA Times Explores McLean's Alternative Therapy

The Los Angeles Times ran a story on Sunday discussing the issues surrounding alternative therapy, a practice with growing acceptance that the late Clive McLean was using to treat his cancer before he died on March 29.

According to the story, Erica McLean has filed a complaint with the L.A. County Sheriff's Department about her husband's experience with what appeared to be bogus treatments prescribed by David Chuah, a biochemist from Canada, and Feline Butcher, a Los Angeles nutritionist who often works with Chuah.

Acting on her complaint, the department recently completed an investigation into the actions of the two. Now the case has been turned over to the district attorney's office for consideration of criminal charges of grand theft and practicing medicine without a license, the story said.

Such investigations are rare; such allegations aren't, the Times reported.
