Hustler Revisits Corruption Charges Against Top Republican

The September issue of Hustler magazine revisits a controversy involving Republican U.S. Rep Tom Feeney of Florida who was accused of corruption in 2002.

Although he was never formally charged at the time, Hustler examines accusations made by computer programmer Clint Curtis said in 2002 that Feeney, who was then speaker of the state House, asked him to create “vote-rigging” software, The Examiner reported.

Curtis also accused Feeney of bilking the state out of cash and of selling secrets the Chinese government.

But perhaps more interesting is the fact that Raymond Lemme, who was investigating Curtis’ allegations in 2003, was found dead in a motel room of an apparent suicide. But Curtis and Hustler reporter Brad Friedman claim Lemme’s death was suspicious.

Ironically, Curtis is now the Democratic candidate running against Feeney for his Congressional seat and Hustler has endorsed his candidacy in a sidebar to the story.

But Feeney said he is not fazed by Curtis’ candidacy, predicting that “rational Democrats” would give him an 80-20 victory.
