Glamor Girl Goes Glossy

Glamor Girl, Southern California’s regional free monthly adult magazine, will get a makeover this month – the magazine will be printed on all gloss paper stock. The first glossy Glamor Girl will be out in the middle of April.

“I didn’t see any other local pubs that were glossy and I realized that the region needs it,” Rich Hansen, spokesperson for the magazine, told AVN.com. “Something local with the classy touch that a glossy cover adds lends credibility to the industry as a whole.”

The shift to the higher quality stock comes just prior to Erotica L.A. in an effort to help provide local adult businesses the opportunity to complement their appearance at the convention with low cost, full color gloss ads in the magazine. Because it is a free publication, Glamor Girl is an extremely popular convention item.

“Last year I passed out thousands and thousands of the magazine. This year, I expect to have even more out,” Hansen said.

Hansen says that even though his production costs have risen with the upgrade in paper supplies, his prices to existing advertisers will remain the same.

“Advertisers that already advertising are getting a free upgrade to gloss so that’s a big bonus to them,” Hansen said.

Tera Patrick will be on the cover of the first glossy paper stock Glamor Girl
