AVN has recently joined the popular Internet community Myspace.com. The page (myspace.com/adultvideonews) features photographs from the 23rd Annual AVN Awards show in the Grand Ballroom at the Venetian Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, as well as photos of recent covers.
“The page hasn’t been up that long and it’s already become a really popular destination on the Myspace,” said Tripp Daniels, editor of AVNOnline.com. “We definitely have big plans for the site, as it has become a dynamic extension of the AVN network.”
“We’re getting at least 30 or 40 friend requests every day. We’re not at Jenna Jameson’s numbers yet, but we’re on our way.”
Myspace.com has become a popular spot for adult performers to stay in contact with their fans. Blogs posted by adult starlets like Jenna Jameson have turned up in the top 10 on the 54 million-member Internet hotspot. In addition, Playboy published a Women of Myspace pictorial in their June issue.
“It’s nice to get all the messages from AVN fans,” said Daniels. “I recently received an e-mail from a soldier in Charlie Company who is headed to Iraq next month. He told me that the soldiers are huge fans of AVN. That’s pretty cool.”
Erotica LA (myspace.com/eroticala) and AVN Afternoons (myspace.com/avnafternoons) are also featured on Myspace.com.
