VAN NUYS, Calif. — Hush Hush Entertainment will officially launch a nationwide search for the next Blackzilla on "The Howard Stern Show" this Thursday, March 13, at 7 a.m. (EST).
The search follows original Blackzilla Shane Diesel's retirement as the bearer of the mantle.
Hush Hush Entertainment CEO Andrew S. said, "Shane Diesel has left very big shoes to fill. The requirements are tough for most any man, but with the help of Howard Stern and his listeners I think we will have a very successful showing of the nation's finest Blackzilla contenders. This is just the beginning of the search and Stern and his crew are the perfect first stop. I know they will have fun with it while teaming to narrow down the many contestants as the search continues. Stern is very interested in discovering the next Blackzilla."
The first radio personalities to learn of the search for the next Blackzilla were Kevin and Bean of KROQ radio in Los Angeles. Andrew S. spoke on-air with the pair in February to explain the physical requirements of the role and to offer tryouts for qualified listeners. The response was huge and demonstrated the need for a national search.
Over the next month, interested contenders for the role of Blackzilla may sign up at www.beblackzilla.com. Applicants will be reviewed and those who meet the exacting standards will be selected to come to Los Angeles and try out in-studio. Finalists will then head to New York for a follow-up visit to "The Howard Stern Show," where they will receive the full Stern treatment and the shock jock will pick a winner.
Fans of the original Blackzilla, Shane Diesel, need not be concerned. According to Hush Hush Entertainment, there are "plenty" of Blackzilla DVDs in post-production. However, Hush Hush Entertainment wants to take the series to the next level and give one lucky man the opportunity to continue where Diesel left off.
