Harvard Alum Launches Ivy League Porn Mag

CAMBRIDGE. Mass.—The first issue of Diamond, a new porn magazine created by Harvard alumni Matthew Di Pasquale, has launched.

The magazine “features sexy photos and interesting interviews of attractive, amazing individuals. The mission is to entertain, inform, and inspire. The outcome is everyone is free.”

The staff is identified by first name only and by the colleges they attended. Only Di Pasquale, who went full frontal in last year’s pilot issue, uses his full name. It’s his baby.

“What can I say? I love women,” he writes on his bio page. “And like most people, so do all of our team members. Or they love men ... or both ... depending on their sexuality. Together, with our raging hormones, we've made a stand and put in a team effort to create an organization that addresses sex, dating, and relationships among other things.”

A 2009 graduate of Harvard with a major in computer science, Di Pasquale is equally verbose regarding his support for sexual tolerance and safe, responsible, and consensual sex. Through the magazine, he means to take a stand for sexual expression and full self-expression, as well as the beauty of the healthy, naked body.

“I believe it's healthy to experience your emotions,” he writes. “It's liberating to come to terms with your sexuality, finding out what turns you on, and accepting and embracing your emotions and desires. And not just sexual emotions and desires, although those are very powerful feelings, but also accepting all of your thoughts and feelings and embracing yourself as a person, and expressing yourself, your emotions and desires, because they are natural and all come from within. Of course, we support expression that is done in a way that is safe, positive, and fun because life is really about having fun.”

The mag has a price tag of $9.99 for a digital version (www.diamond-mag.com) and $29.99 for the print version. Di Pasquale told the Boston Herald that about 60 online copies have been sold thus far.

Diamond also is looking for models, who are paid $200 for a three-hour photo shoot and interview. They are also promised compensation ion the form of $10,000 or 2.5 percent of the profits made from issue sales, whichever is less, and 30 percent of the profits from sales of videos, poster-prints, screensavers and desktop backgrounds of the model.

“There's no upper limit to how much you can make here,” Di Pasquale promises. “Plus, you'll also get tons of exposure, loads of attention from the media, and potential offers for future opportunities with Diamond and others.”

According to the BostonHerald.com, “Di Pasquale vowed nudity in the ‘official’ launch of Diamond this month—and he’s come through, with photos of gals and guys from Harvard, Yale and Princeton universities. Well, at least one of them is sort of from Harvard. Andrea Smith, featured as Diamond’s ‘Single Dame,’ said she took some undergraduate classes at Harvard and received a certificate from the university’s design school.”

Interestingly, the beautiful girl posing on the Model section of the magazine's website isn’t an Ivy Leaguer either, but rather 2005 Penthouse Pet of the Year Martina Warren. What she’s doing there is anyone’s guess, not that we think Martina—who is not only lovely but also extremely bright—would have a problem being in a position to turn on college boys. And we certainly don’t mean to imply that the photo was used without her permission—something we cannot even imagine a Harvard alumni doing—but we’re tracking her down anyway, just to check.
