Hartnett Sues Tabloid Over Sex-Tape Report

LOS ANGELES - Actor Josh Hartnett is suing the British tabloid Daily Mirror for publishing a report of his alleged sex romp in a London hotel library.

The Daily Mirror article claimed the Black Hawk Down star and an unidentified female companion were caught on tape by a hotel surveillance camera. The rumor immediately spread all over the Internet, prompting adult production company Red Light District to capitalize on the publicity by offering $500,000 for the rights to distribute the footage.

Hartnett is seeking unspecified damages and an apology from the Daily Mirror. The actor's attorney called the sex-tape rumor "defamatory and unsubstantiated" and "a complete fabrication."

Meanwhile, Red Light District CEO David Joseph continues to receive more ink over the incident. Joseph's statement regarding the tape was quoted today on AOL News.
