LOS ANGELES — Halo-8 Entertainment has secured worldwide distribution rights to R-rated and unrated “mainstream” versions of the horror-porn titles Re-Penetrator and The XXXorcist, starring Joanna Angel and produced by her Burning Angel Productions. Halo-8 will package the two movies together as The Sick and Twisted Horror of Joanna Angel and distribute them through a deal with Ryko Filmworks / Warner-Elektra-Atlantic. The collection streets on Feb. 26, 2008.
“Joanna Angel is fearless and twisted, and these films are milestones on cinema's path to hell,” said Matt Pizzolo, president of Halo-8.
Re-Penetrator won an AVN Award for “Most Outrageous Sex Scene” in 2006 ("Joanna Angel in Blood, Disembowelment, and Fucking What Fun"). The XXXorcist is currently a nominee for “Most Outrageous Sex
Scene” and “Best Special Effects” for this January's AVN Awards. Both
movies were directed by Doug Sakmann, and star Angel, Tommy Pistol, and
Kylee Kross.
Angel’s fans were unable to watch Re-Penetrator online when it was deemed a violation of the terms of service for Burning Angel's billing company. No website host in America would handle the film and Burning Angel was forced to host it in the Netherlands, on Re-Penetrator.com. The company eventually put the movie to DVD, and even with the help of the largest distribution company in the adult industry (Pulse Distribution) very few stores risked carrying it.
“Halo-8 is known for putting out films that piss people off,” said Angel. “It seems appropriate that Re-Penetrator and The XXXorcist be added to the roster."
Among the movies in Halo-8's catalogue are the "fetish adventure" Bianca Beauchamp: All Access, "punk-slasher movie" Punk Rock Holocaust 2, Threat and Beer The Movie.
Re-Penetrator — a parody of Stuart Gordon's 1985 H.P. Lovecraft adaptation Re-Animator — is the story of a dead stripper (Angel) re-animated into a nymphomaniac-of-the-living-dead by a perverted mad scientist (Pistol). The XXXorcist reunites Angel and Pistol, this time as possessed teen Regan MacFeel and exorcist-priest Father Merkin. When conventional methods fail, Merkin turns to the ultimate religious ritual: the sexorcism.
