Gay Web Monkey Magazine Will Go Bi-Monthly in 2006

With 12 issues and a 75 percent increase in distribution under its belt since launching in 2003, Hyperion Interactive Media and GayWebMonkey Magazine will begin publishing bi-monthly as of the December–January 2006 issue.

The 3-year-old GayWebMonkey is an irreverent mix of what’s new online for the gay community in the worlds of entertainment, business, health, technology, and life.

“There are so many things happening online, this seemed like the logical next step in our growth as an internationally circulated magazine,” says editor-in-chief, Fabrice Tasendo. “We are always asked, ‘when is the next issue coming out?’ We’re looking forward to giving the readers what they want by putting out two more issues per year.”

Forthcoming magazines promise more photos, more features, and the same witty quizzes, quips, and columns readers have come to expect.

“I feel like we’ve really hit our stride with GayWebMonkey,” Tasendo says. “By putting out more issues, we can give the reader more, including more travel, a health and beauty issue, and a holiday-themed issue.”

GayWebMonkey is distributed free at bars, restaurants, and gay businesses across the United States and Canada. Additionally, the magazine is available for download as a PDF document at GayWebMonkey.com.

“The magazine has taken on a life of its own,” publisher Matt Skallerud says. “It’s the perfect companion to our network of sites and has proven invaluable in getting our name in front of a new group of readers.”

GayWebMonkey is published by Hyperion Interactive Media, the media/marketing arm behind sites including GayWired.com, LesbiaNation.com, and GayMonkey.com.
