Gay Titles, Performers Finally Included in IAFD

The Internet Adult Film Database has added 18,000 gay titles, as well as performers, to its library of cross-referenced adult industry information, expanding its coverage into the gay market.

IAFD President Jeff Vanzetti told AVNOnline.com he and his staff received a lot of requests to add gay titles and performers but were unable to add the content until recently.

"We've received a lot of mail over the years asking if we knew where 'the gay version of the IAFD was,' since we were only covering the straight porn at that time," said Vanzetti. "At some point in 2004 we were approached by an archivist in Canada who wanted to help the site, and he had been collecting a bunch of info on gay porn as he came across it...[We] wanted him to donate it to us, but it was in a stack of notebooks. We hooked him up with some database structures and once he got the data entry done, we worked on rolling it into the IAFD."

Vanzetti believes the addition of these gay titles and performers will help the site grow. "We've always been a word-of-mouth site, so I think we'll see the traffic grow steadily over the next quarter or two as word gets around that we have all this new information available," he said. "In order to broaden our price-search offerings, we're expanding our partnerships with vendors who focus on gay material."

IAFD believes there are other ways in which it could improve business, too. "We'd like to see better interaction between some of the studios and ourselves to ensure that titles are being entered in a timely and accurate fashion," said Vanzetti. "It's a lot easier to know which 'Nicole' or 'Daisy' is in the film when you're in contact with the producers."

IAFD also recently rolled out a new menu system, Vanzetti added.

The volunteer-maintained IAFD covers more than 75,000 titles and 73,000 performers/directors, and is considered to be a premier resource for adult Web information.
