FSC INSPIRE to Host Tax Panel for Adult Performers

LOS ANGELES—FSC INSPIRE will host a special INSPIRE session focusing on tax preparation for adult workers on Thursday, March 25th. The session will be led by FSC’s Lotus Lain, along with bookkeeper Jessie Hornby (Nerds4Numbers), tax preparer Eric Polacek (Companion Tax), and AILAA-founder Mary Moody.

“With 2020 taxes coming due, and so many new people in our industry, we wanted to bring together tax professionals with industry professionals to help get everyone over the finish line,” says Lotus Lain, industry relations advocate for FSC. “We’ll cover last minute tax issues, including  deductions, extensions, PPP loans, and strategies for reducing your tax burden in 2021.”

FSC held an INSPIRE tax panel in January, with tax attorney Beth McKenna and tax domme Lori St. Kitts, but not all questions could be answered in the time frame. With the deadline for filing fast approaching, Lain realized a second panel was more than warranted.

“This is a specialized industry with specialized needs,” says Lain. “There are too few resources available to us, and many mainstream accountants aren’t familiar with the industry. No matter whether you use a big firm, or file taxes yourself, this panel will provide the tips and strategies that understand sex work is real work.”
