LOS ANGELES—In what will someday be called Generation Covid, Mila Monet is one of the young beauties so eager to bust into the adult industry that they made their debuts in the middle of the pandemic.
A sweet 18 years old from Pittsburgh, she is the type of performer to immediately catch the eye of Porn Valley producers and directors and to find as much work as she wanted, coronavirus or no. That meant that before the rest of the world had even heard of her, Mila had already shot for Jules Jordan, Reality Kings, Girlfriends Films and Team Skeet. Earlier this year, Mila’s shoot for Deeper—“Apt 1698” with Oliver Flynn and directed by Kayden Kross—was one of the hottest things going. Miss Monet seems perfectly poised for success.
Mila was not the kind of young lady you’d expect to be shooting porno almost the second she turned 18. She had a four-year relationship that she maintained all through high school, so she wasn’t exactly the openly explorative type that tends to elicit such expectations. Waitressing at a diner near her house didn’t set off alarm bells, either. But sexual curiosity and the desire to share that with the viewing world comes in many packages, and Mila, standing 5-foot-8 with 36Bs and a perfect ass, definitely has nice packaging.
Even by the time she started doing pro shoots she’d already been selling pics through her social media and had done some camming. Before going mainstream, she and her friends would get hotel rooms and bring their lights and lingerie to shoot content once or twice a week.
She didn’t have to do much of anything else to make the jump to porn star other than show up.
“First I started with selling nudes and putting my exposed pictures on Instagram, then my agency reached out to me,” Mila says. “They contacted me like a week after my 18th birthday, but I didn’t start until October and I’ve been selling nudes since the day I turned 18. The agency DM’d me and asked me if I would be interested and I had nothing holding me back, so I just did it.”
Encouraged by her friend Alessia Luna, who showed up in Porn Valley not long before Mila, she is signed with Motley Models, home of superstars like Emily Willis, Scarlit Scandal and others.
She says her interest in porn predates her arrival and in the past she’s most enjoyed the “passion scenes.” But she’s not here just to experience the passion, she is ready to get dirty.
“I always loved porn, I love the passion scenes,” she says. “I enjoy all categories, but if I had to choose [what type of scene to shoot] I would say bondage. I love being tied up. One time I was having sex with a dude and he tied me to his bed frame and I’ve loved it ever since.”
While many if not most get a dose of the freshman frights, that wasn’t the case for Mila, who finds more common practices strike her fear chord.
“It was more exciting than scary,” she says. “It started getting scary when I had to do adult stuff like get credit and do my taxes. I love shooting, I do every chance I get. It’s just so much fun to shoot, I’m very hyper and enthusiastic, so everyone on set always loves me.”
One of her biggest shoots to date was for Deeper—and that was a shoot that actually did intimidate her just a bit. That scene, “Apt 1698,” features co-star Flynn discovering her while on the prowl with his telescope.
“Oh my god, I loved shooting for Deeper! It felt like the real deal. There were way more people on set than there usually were, so I was kind of nervous at first, but I loosened real quickly, everyone on set was amazing and it was a great time shooting for them.”
Lucky for Mila, she has found nothing but support from both her friends, her family and her new industry. Well, her high school boyfriend wasn’t so enchanted with the idea, but she says “he’s getting more used to it.”
“My family was very supportive with my decision, so it made it a lot easier to join the industry,” Mila says. “I talked to my mom about it when I was thinking about doing it and she told me it was a good idea. As long as I’m making good money and it’s legal, she supports me. They let me make my own decisions, I’m an adult now. My parents went down really rough paths and weren’t always the best people, so there’s not really much they can judge me about. My family and friends all know about it and they’re all very supportive and love me.”
“The whole thing about being a porn star is awesome,” she continues. “You get to fuck and make money, literally everyone’s dream job. Everyone I met in the industry so far is super nice as well. I’m so young and new compared to everyone, so I thought I’d get treated differently and I was so nervous at first, but I came to realize everyone is really nice and sweet.”
