CHATSWORTH, Calif.—With her ethereal, almost she-wolf like beauty, Arizona native Maya Woulfe has the kind of mysterious allure to grab hold of fans and not let go. For the record though, her chosen porn name has nothing to do with wolves.
“There was this dominatrix that I was following and her last name was Wolf,” she explains, “and I just always liked the name Maya.” The reasoning for the unique spelling of the surname, she goes on to note, was “so I could have the same ‘at’ on every single platform ... having it seamless like that is super helpful for people to find you.”
Spoken like a true businesswoman. It’s no wonder why, then, legendary agent Mark Spiegler deemed her fit for his roster. Indeed, she applied that same business mindset to approaching him about repping her. “I got offers from other agencies before I contacted Mark,” she reveals. “I ended up contacting him when I had like four or five offers. And I emailed him and I told him I had all of those offers, but I wanted to work with him.”
Having started out as a boudoir model and professional dominatrix, Woulfe began exploring porn as an option when the dungeon she was working in closed down due to the coronavirus pandemic. Like so many others, she began making indie content to sell on clip sites—which may beg the question for some why she pursued pro porn at all, rather than go full-time content creator.
“At some point I realized—’cause I already had people recruiting me, so it was already something I had been thinking about and I was already making my own content and clips—I just realized I could get paid on a company’s dime for them,” she imparts. “I was advertising for myself, and it really only gets so far when you’re just one person. But I realized if I did porn, I could have companies advertising me on their dime, and getting follower and fans and this and that, but someone else is paying for it, and I’m not breaking my back, like trying to get Twitter retweets and this, that and whatever. Because that shit’s hard. Like, it’s fucking hard. Work smarter, not harder, right?”
Meanwhile, for every ounce of business acumen she clearly possesses, rest assured that Woulfe is equally—if not more—driven by pleasure.
“Honestly, after I first started having sex, I was like, ‘Oh yeah, this is IT,’” she muses. “Like, I basically managed to figure out how I could do that as much as possible, because I really, I like to have sex a lot.”
And she is not here as a casual “tourist” by any stretch: “I started this knowing that this would be my career for the next years to come, and that’s what I intend to do with it.”
She’s already begun to expand into other creative arenas beyond performing, having been tapped by director and fellow Spiegler Girl Casey Calvert to write a script for an upcoming Lust Cinema project.
Calvert extended the opportunity during a trip to Las Vegas to shoot for Kink.com, when Woulfe casually expressed an interest in writing and directing. “Casey knows me, she knows that I’m a writer,” Woulfe relates. “So she looks at me and she tells me, ‘Write a script and we’ll make it.’ I almost started crying.
“I knew coming in that this was something that I wanted to do,” she continues. “I knew I wanted to direct, I knew I wanted to write scripts, but I didn’t think that an opportunity was going to present itself to me so early in my career. So I was just, like, overwhelmed with her saying that.”
With such a fortuitous jump-start under her belt, it would seem the porn world is Maya Woulfe’s oyster—and she does not plan to squander a morsel of it. “I want all the work,” she says, asserting that her general career strategy for the foreseeable future is to “just do as many scenes as I can and make as much stuff ... just take strides, as many as I possibly can, to get myself to a point where I’m performing, I’m producing, I’m directing, I’m doing it all. That’s the goal.”
