Della Dane started shooting scenes in October of 2017, after three years of working in dance clubs. “I’ve been in the BDSM/swinging world for almost ten years, and have been stripping for three years. When I moved to L.A., I met a lot of people in the industry and decided to take the opportunity that was presented to me.”
Dane has a master’s degree in couples and family therapy. “I had been doing a bit of work in the mental health field, specifically around human sexuality, but I wasn’t feeling passionate about it any more. I don’t know if I’m going to go back.”
AVN first talked to Dane a week after she shot her first scene: “I thought about making videos eight, nine years ago, but I never pursued it. In the last couple of weeks, I made the decision. I had a bit of hesitance. This was a Decision. This was a Decision-Decision. There’s really no turning back after there’s videos of you fucking on the Internet.
“I made the decision,” she continued. “It really excited me. I knew I’d be good at it. I’ve pretty much done everything you see in porn in my personal life already, might as well get paid for it. I come from a conservative Christian background: home schooled, didn’t have sex till I was 21. I’ve chosen not to do things out of fear, and I wouldn’t be the person I am now if I hadn’t done all that [academic] work. There’s a lot of personal development that came along with it. There’s no regret there.”
After moving from San Francisco, she found that she likes what many people hate about Los Angeles: “I love the fact that it’s a driving culture. In San Francisco I felt isolated because so many people didn’t have cars. I’d want to have friends over but they wouldn’t want to take an Uber across town or the bus wouldn’t be running. Having a driving culture here I feel a lot more freedom and I’ve had more connected, positive relationships. People I consider best friends—we talk several times a week and see each other almost weekly.”
Dane’s to-do list in the adult industry is lengthy: Her dream scene is “either a gangbang or orgy” and she’d like to work with Romi Rain, Joanna Angel, Adriana Chechik, Bella Bellz, Honey Gold, Rocco Siffredi, Kink.com, Jonni Darkko and Alexander DeVoe. “I do really like kink and bondage, that kind of thing. It’s something I’ve done a lot of personally, as a top and a bottom. And I love anal sex, so it’d be fun to do some anal scenes too.”
She says she’s looking forward to “having freedom in every part of my life. I’m very open-minded, very straightforward. Able to talk about anything, walk around naked, I-don’t-care kind of person. Also, I like finding those people I can really connect with. I’ve been fortunate in finding some of them already. Building my own brand, building my own business, having my own company someday. All of that. I really feel like it’s achievable. I’ve always felt that way about myself, and the more I think about it, I feel like I’m in the right place. These are my people.”
