Fresh Faces: Charly Summer

LOS ANGELES Charly Summer remembers how she would post naughty photos on Reddit at first just for the laughs.

It actually was her significant other who started her account.

“And then when he saw the reaction, he showed it to me,” Summer recalls. “And I was like, ‘Oh, wow.’”

Her playful nudes—under the username “kittytinyfeets"—soon began receiving thousands of up-votes and hundreds of comments.

But when a March 2019 post titled “I may not be a Top Chef but I’d look good on top of one”—showing her butt naked in the kitchen—made it to the front page of Reddit with 17,200 up-votes and counting, everything changed.

“A bunch of people I knew had seen it,” Summer tells AVN. “And that's when it got real for me because before it was just a joke.

“It was like, ‘He-he-he, we’re posting pictures on the internet.’ And then people saw it—my brother actually saw it and hit me up about it. I think that's when it got real. And I was like, ‘Wow, I'm getting a lot of attention.’"

Two years later, there are more eyes on Charly than ever.

The petite starlet—who signed with Motley Models in October 2020—is enjoying a breakout summer as she makes the rounds in Porn Valley with new sex scenes coming every week to go with ringing endorsements from her co-stars, directors and fans alike.

And Summer, whose first job was selling roasted nuts at a mall kiosk in her hometown, says she’s having a blast with her splashy arrival in the adult industry.

“I feel better than ever,” Summer said in an exclusive interview at the Motley Manor on May 20th—the eve of her 25th birthday. “Today almost feels like a pivotal moment for me going into my 25th year of life.

“I just had the best day and I just feel like my life's going in the direction that I want it to be going in. I feel like I'm achieving my goals.

“I like to wake up every day and have a goal and this gives me the ability to do that, which makes me really happy. And it's crazy. People always say cliche things like, ‘You can do anything you want’ and stuff like that. But you really can. If you really want something, you can just do it. And there's a way to do it, to get what you want and make your life what you want.”

Charly continues, “I feel like time is money. And really what I want at the end of the day is time to be able to spend with my family… And so if I can just work now and do all these things now then it'll give me the future that I want to have.”

Summer warmed up to doing porn in a steady progression that extended well beyond sharing occasional nudes. As her Reddit fanbase grew she began receiving messages from admirers who asked her to create custom videos.

“They wanted to see more of me than just these photos,” she says. “And they were willing to pay for it. … I thought, alright, why not?”

She made casual custom clips with her iPhone and sold them directly to fans, and then graduated to selling her videos on platforms such as ManyVids. During that time, she also dabbled in live camming, hooking up with the notorious Jack and Jill, one of Chaturbate's top camming couples, who won Lovers of the Decade at the first Chaturbate Awards this past February.

“And I went to visit them when they lived in San Francisco at the time and that's when I had my first real, I would say, like porn experience. Because I had never really shot porn before that. It was only myself doing customs,” Charly explains. “And so we just cammed and it was a threeway with them and it went great. And we were really popular.

"To this day, my video with them is the most popular one they've ever sold. And they've been doing this for like a decade.”

Charly started thinking bigger.

It was evident she could turn this into a full-time career.

“When I saw that happening I was like, ‘How can I not?’” Charly says. “And then I got [to L.A.] and it's so unbelievably awesome. It just is. And I don't know what the connotation is outside of the world of porn. But for me, it's just awesome, it’s empowering. I'm respected everywhere I go. I love to create, I want to continue to create. And that's what it gives me the opportunity to do at a really young age.

“… And this is such a creative industry. There’s so much to the adult industry in general that no one knows about.

“Because I'm a Gemini and I always need something new and exciting. And for me this is never boring. It's just always something new. It's a new challenge and I’m meeting new people, awesome people.”

Summer points to her work with Jack and Jill as a pivotal moment because “that is when I got a lot of exposure because they had a ton of fans.”

"And then they wanted me back,” she adds. “So I went back and did it with them a few more times. They moved to Las Vegas. And that's when I went to AVN for the first time. I actually couldn't get into AVN because I wasn't like a real performer at that time. I just did Chaturbate and stuff and didn’t get a pass, so I couldn't go, but I was hanging out with them while they were there and we cammed and stuff.”

Summer started booking scenes on her own after that but she realized she needed professional representation to take the next step in her career.

Enter Motley Models.

“I had basically just followed a lot of girls that they represented on Instagram and just had seen the content they produced,” Charly explains. “I always sort of admired them and just from the beginning knew that's what I wanted. I always wanted Motley. I don't know why, I just always wanted Motley. It fit me. I felt like it's a chemistry thing almost. It's just like my vibe. I like the way they roll, you know. They always give me great shoots. They never put me in bad situations, they’re always looking out for me.

“I just love them.”

She also credits her friend Chef from Disciples of Desire—who made a recommendation—for her decision to go with Motley.

“He also told me about Motley. Because it's scary to sign. It’s scary to make that jump,” she says. “It’s a big jump for me because I was like a normal girl and then I was gonna turn into a porn star.

“And I was like, I never viewed myself as a porn star. And I still kind of don't. I’m still me. It's just more of a character.”

But international porn stardom seems unavoidable at this point for Summer, whose early work has made a big impression on industry insiders such as AVN Hall of Fame studio mogul and director, Jules Jordan.

The 25-year veteran captured Summer going toe-to-toe with heavyweight gunslinger Dredd—and suffice it to say she held her own.

“Charly is part of the freshman class—she is a perfect mix of classic beauty and insatiable sluttiness,” Jordan tells AVN. “She loves sex and we have lots planned for her in the future. She gleefully took Dredd to the limit and had lots of fun and orgasms.”

To say that Dredd enjoyed taking Charly for a spin in May would be an understatement.

“I remember that like it was yesterday,” Dredd tells AVN. “I wasn’t aware of her at the time of the shoot and was just hoping for a solid scene. But in no time I realized she was the real deal.

“She was insatiable, had a great attitude and really went above and beyond to deliver a memorable shoot.”

AVN Hall of Fame shot-caller Tristan Seagal directed Summer in a virtual reality scene in Las Vegas for VR Bangers in which she squared off with 2020 AVN Best Male Newcomer Will Pounder.

“I remember that scene—she was fairly new in VR, but she really had a fucking nice attitude and that’s what matters the most to me,” Seagal tells AVN. “She’s cute and she’s fun and she likes what she does and has the best attitude. The rest comes later with experience. … That was a good moment with her. And the feedback from the viewers was good, they like her. I would shoot her again. She’s a cool, chill girl. We need more like her in the industry.”

Fellow Hall of Fame helmsman Mike Quasar, who has 30 years experience shooting high-level porn, saw what Summer can do when she stepped onto his Penthouse set.

“She's got a fantastic attitude, great energy and even though she's new, she performed like a pro,” Quasar tells AVN. “Highly recommended for any of your stepdaughter or babysitter needs.”

Some of Summer’s other early credits include scenes for AdultTime, Naughty America, Swallowing Angels, JaysPOV, BrattySis, CherryPimps, Fit18, Badoink, Nubiles, Bang.com and Team Skeet.

She has done two boy/girl/girl scenes—one with April Olsen for Zero Tolerance and the other with Rachel Starr for Reality Kings.

“April is a Spiegler Girl and she’s hardcore. She really took care of me,” Charly says. “I don’t do a ton of girl/girl. It’s new to me and I don’t have a ton of experience so I’m trying to ease into it. I’m trying to take things kind of slowly with my career. I’m taking things bit by bit instead of just jumping all in.”

She says her first B/G/G went smooth.

“I was comfortable. I was surprised. Everything in life that seems scary, once you do it, it’s not that bad,” Summer says.

Among her upcoming scenes is her debut for Blacked.com

Like Dredd, Motley Models president Dave Rock also calls Summer “the real deal.”

She’s so sexy with the way she carries herself,” Rock tells AVN. “She’s crushing it. … Her social media following is growing faster than anyone I’ve ever seen."

A Catholic school girl who was born in Boca Raton, Fla., Summer moved to North Carolina when she was 5 and then back to Florida for her sophomore year of high school. Summer rode horses competitively during her formative years, learning the importance of self-discipline.

“Looking back, I'm extremely grateful. My parents sacrificed a lot for me to be able to be a part of the sport. It is expensive,” says Charly, who recently relocated from the Sunshine State to Southern California. “And I sacrificed a lot of time and they instilled discipline in me at a very young age. I was at the barn every day, every weekend, all my time was spent practicing and taking care of an animal.

“So I just think that was kind of a valuable lesson in itself, just knowing all those things and knowing what it takes to keep a living, breathing animal specimen alive.”

An admitted “late bloomer” who grew up in an ultra conservative household, Summer only had sex with two guys before adult. She says watching every episode of Keeping Up With the Kardarshians and admiring their “family values” intrigued her.

“I was obsessed with that my whole life. Kim is my absolute idol,” Charly says with a smile.

“So I think that has a little something to do with it. I'm like anything Kim does, that's what I'm doing. Kim does porn... I'm gonna do it, too.”

Her experience with nuts started at the mall, where her boss made them fresh daily.

“They smelled very good and everyone would just swarm,” Charly says. “And he would just have two cute girls standing out there with free samples. And we would just sell tons of nuts.

“I think this started my nut career from a young age. I’ve been handling nuts for too long...”

But Charly wanted her own job—and her independence—for as long as she can remember.

“I just wanted my own money, my own freedom,” she says. “I wanted something to go to. So I think that's what it was for me. And it was fun. I really enjoyed it.”

After her nut job, Charly worked as a “model” at Hollister, folding clothes and taking care of the cash register.

Then she got a gig at a small, family-owned restaurant, where she ran small plates of food to the tables.

“No one should ever trust me to hold that many plates,” she jokes. “I was terrified to be a waiter. I don't know how they do it when they have the plates all the way up their arms sometimes. It's mind blowing. It’s a real skill.”

She also attended cosmetology school in Orlando.

“I didn't know what to do after high school. I knew college wasn't for me. I'm the type of person—I have a good intuition—so I just knew that wasn't for me. So I was like, I gotta find something else. So I just went for cosmetology. I love to be creative. I thought with cosmetology I could be creative every day. It's a little bit more repetitive than that in reality,” Charly explains.

“But honestly, cosmetology school was super great, because I had to show up every single day at like 8 a.m. And if I was one minute late, they would send me home and I would have to drive from Orlando all the way like an hour home.

“So it just gave me that discipline of like a real job basically, getting there on time, working a 12-hour day and going home. And I did that for a year. And I loved it. And I could still do it to this day if I wanted.”

She says that discipline—gained from her equestrian and cosmetology days—has helped her adapt to some of the challenges that the adult business presents.

“Because you sort of have to have a thick skin in this industry,” Charly reasons. “It's like the entertainment industry, there's a lot of parallels. And people are going to constantly judge you. You’re going to get rejected, there's going to be missed opportunities. But you just have to keep going, you have to know there's something out there that's special for you.

“And I think that that's really what the horses did for me, because I would lose a lot. But they always wanted me to win. They would push me to win, they would push me to get back up on the saddle when I got bucked off.

“And I'm also not afraid to get dirty—no pun intended.”
