Arya Fae got her first name from a character in Game of Thrones: "She's a fucking badass, and she doesn't take shit from anybody, She's so young, but she's so fierce, and extremely determined and strong," Fae "just means 'fairy,'" she adds. She grew up in Nashville, but she's from "a lot of places."
"I started doing nude photography—I was the model—and I saw a friend of mine doing porn with X-Art and I decided I wanted to start making erotic art. Not that all the porn I shoot is 'erotic art,' but it's been fun." She wants to do serious erotic work, like Lars von Trier's Nymphomaniac. "I was really inspired by it. I'd like to see a crossover like that. I love the idea of working with shadows and different lighting, and not just focusing on the penetration. Super artistic and different."
Fae describes shooting her first scene as "a crazy feeling of unreality. It was 'Arya, open your asshole' and I'm like, 'What? This is insane.' I was nervous, and scared, but also super-liberated at the sane time. It was different, but awesomely different."
She attended AVN Adult Entertainment Expo for the first time in January: "It was so awesome. It was cool to meet fans who actually, genuinely wanted to meet me. It’s awesome to hear them tell about how I'm a part of their lives."
She indulged one of her fantasies in "a super submissive-dommy thing with Bryan Gozzling in Hookup Hotshot. I was very submissive. It was one of the craziest scenes I've ever done. I went with it. It was gonzo style, raw. Even though it looked like he was torturing the girls, we enjoyed it." Looking to the future, Fae says "My dream scene is for Xander Corvus and Michael Vegas to d.p. me for Jules Jordan."
