Alexis Avery started her adult career doing solo camming in her own home, "and then I became a stripper, and then I just said, 'Let's do porn.'" This was "on the East Coast. I don't say my state. Too small. Way too small."
She shot her first scene in Miami for Reality Kings, an experience she says was "very intimidating. I wasn't used to not seeing myself on camera. As a cam girl I always saw myself on camera. When I started doing porn I was like, 'Oh crap, I can’t see myself. This probably sucks.' I was more nervous than anything—that may have saturated the experience. I haven't seen it."
Avery says being a performer is "liberating. I never wanted to work a 9-to-5, I always wanted to do something out of the ordinary. I didn't want to do something 'normal.' It wasn't in the cards, I knew that from the start." Part of the liberation is enjoying that she's being watched. "I like having the viewers watch me get pleasured. I can express myself, sexually." Her dream scene is "any and all. I'm open to anything." When told that might get weird offers, she smiles and says, "I'm down for it."
Her hobbies are videogames "and sleeping," she adds with a chuckle. "I have been playing Far Cry 5. I just got it. Very fun. You run around the woods and kill people." A tattoo on her arm matter-of-factly states "I leave before being left. I decide." and her words to live by are Always Forward, Never Back: "Always look forward. Don’t look back. Don't look at the past, always just keep going."
