Fresh Face: Interview with Rachael Madori

This article originally ran in the July 2015 issue of AVN magazine. Cick here to see the digital edition.

It could well have been just another day on the set, but when I met Rachael Madori I was intrigued. As a reporter, my MO on sets is to stay in the background, observing and taking notes, but right after posing for stills Rachael walked up to me, still naked, smiled, stuck out her hand to shake and said, “Hi, I’m Rachael.” The scene I witnessed a few minutes later with her and Toni Ribas was impressive: One of my notes reads, “I am ready to pre-nom this scene RIGHT NOW.” She has a very distinctive look, with some tattoos and a convertible hairstyle, long on top and shaved at the sides, that can be punk or conventional depending on how it’s placed. She is intelligent and articulate, and as we walked through the location house looking for a place to chat she laconically observed, “I’ve fucked there, I’ve fucked there, I’ve fucked there ...” pointing out rooms and furniture she had used on prior shoots. How did you start with this?

I got in touch with Brazzers, half-joking, saying, “I want to be a porn star” and they responded. They got me in touch with MOFOs, and I went to Miami and I started shooting there. I fell in love with it.

What did you do before this?

I was bartending and being a waitress, and I was going to school to get my restaurant management degree, which I’m still pursuing. After porn I want to keep pursuing the restaurant stuff.

How many scenes have you done now?

I have no idea. Thirty, forty-plus. I used to have a number and then after 15—I don’t know.

What’s the best scene you’ve done so far?

This one that I just did just now for Bonnie [Rotten] is tied with the one I did for New Sensations. A really crazy anal thing with Bruce Venture for Eddie Powell [Innocence Bound, released by Digital Sin in May]. My favorite. I was dressed as a doll and had an innocent vibe. Little doll shoes. It was all about invading that innocence and disrupting it. I wrote about it on my blog because it excited me so much.

Who do you want to work with that you haven’t worked with yet?

Male talent, after today, I’ve worked with everybody I’ve wanted to. Toni was the last on the list. Companies, I want to work for Brazzers, because that was the porn I was watching when I was younger.

How is making videos different from what you thought?

It’s so professional. I didn’t think it was going to be some scary basement with a guy with a Nikon, but I didn’t think it was as established and professional as it is. Whenever I researched it I only heard what the world wants you to: The women are treated horribly and you’re forced to do things you don’t want to. I’ve never once been uncomfortable on set. I love how professional it is.

Do you like working in the adult industry?

I love it. I do. I never met someone I don’t want to work with. I’ve never had an issue with anyone. Every scene I do, I want it to be awesome. I don’t care who’s sticking their dick in me, it’s gonna be good.

What¹s the biggest misconception about the adult industry?

I think the biggest misconception, at least on my part, is that women are forced to do things that they don’t want to do. Even my friends from back home, when they found out, they said, “I can’t believe you’re going to let people treat you like that.” For some reason they think I’m forced to do it. Even with those hardcore, vicious-looking things, no, I wanted to do that. I signed up for this, I never do anything I don’t want to do. Anything that happens on camera, I’m loving it. I consent to all of it. The biggest misconception is that there’s not a sense of safety. Or respect. I’ve never been disrespected by the industry at all.

What are your biggest turn-ons?

Toni. [laughs] I like really, really rough sex, but not just the physical part, the mental aspect. The dirty talk, and the humiliation, I really enjoy. I think that’s because I’m so in-control in everything in my life: I’m really dominant outside the bedroom. I’m assertive and I say whatever I want. So when I get to the bedroom, anyone who can turn that off and completely control me—I love it. You’re grabbing me, you’re throwing me around, it’s fine. Because when I go back out to the real world I’m that dominant person. So in the bedroom I want you to turn that off. Let me be vulnerable.

Describe your dream sexual scenario.

It’s so filthy. ... I have this really weird fantasy about being abducted by aliens. Five or six of them, and they have to be hot. I want to be abducted by them and they do tests on me like anal probing and it turns into this really weird other-worldly Martian gangbang. I want to make a scene like this someday. I love the idea of gangbangs. I don’t do them yet but they’re definitely on my list. Weird alien Martian gangbang.

What three items would you take if you were stranded on an island?

A lighter, to make fire. Protein powder. A box of pizza.

What¹s the most valuable life lesson you’ve learned?

I’ve had quite a few of those. It sounds really clichéd but I think the best life lesson I learned is treat people how you want to be treated. I learned that the hard way because the first half of my life I was a really horrible person, I just used people and I was really bad and really negative. Something really bad came out of that and it was what I was putting out. It completely changed me. Now, I don’t care who you are, I’m not going to treat you a way I don’t want to be treated. Even if you’re treating me terribly, I’m trying to put out positivity.

How would you spend your last day on earth?

Sitting on my couch, eating peanut butter and jelly sandwiches with my boyfriend.

How would your best friends describe you?

Crazy. Really outspoken, but really honest. One thing they’d say about me is if it’s the truth, I’m gonna say it. No matter what.

How do you spend your free time?

I go to the gym a lot. It’s a hobby of mine. I like to go camping; I really, really love camping. I grew up doing that. I haven’t done this in a while but I love going to the shooting range with my dad, with my family. That’s a hobby of mine, shooting guns.

If you weren’t doing this, what would you like to be doing?

I’d be back in restaurants, 100 percent, definitely, that’s what I love to do. I was in the restaurant industry for seven years before porn and worked my way up to restaurant manager. Eventually, when I’m older, I want to open a restaurant.

Do you have a long-range plan?

I definitely want to do this for a few more years. I want to be more established and have a bigger voice in the adult industry. And then after this I want to have babies. No more than two. Move back to New York City and open my restaurant. Either a hole-in-the-wall with amazing food that there’s a line out the door, or fine dining. Michelin stars. Nothing in the middle.

Quick Hits

Food you would be able to eat every day: Pizza

Best concert you¹ve been to: A Jessie Ware concert in Brooklyn. It wasn’t like a huge rowdy concert because her music is really soulful, but that was the best one I’ve been to ever because her performance was amazing. I’m used to seeing DJs, but watching her sing on stage just by herself was astounding.

Pet peeves: I don’t like two-faced people. Anyone who says something to my face and then says something else later infuriates me to no end.

One thing you would like to change about yourself: I’d like to be less rash. I’d like to control my emotions more. When I get angry, calm myself; when I get happy I get crazy. Just a little more steadying of the emotions.

What gets you in the mood: Physically? If you touch my neck I’ll probably just suck your dick. [laughs] I used to not like lovey-dovey stuff but I really like cute lovey things now. If you do something really sweet for me, it just makes me really wet. Just really kind things: [My reaction is] “You’re so adorable. I love you.” When I come home and my boyfriend has dinner made I’m like, “Oh my gawd have sex with me right now.” Kindness makes me more wet than anything you can physically do to me.

Is there anything else we should know about you? Yes. Read my blog. Writing is my biggest passion ever. I’ve been doing it since I was little. That fact that I got to start a blog and people read it and are entertained by my words is exciting. It’s at ItsRachaelMadori.com.
