Flynt Building Goes Dark for 'Earth Hour'

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. - Larry Flynt will shut down the power in his Wilshire Boulevard office building for one hour on Saturday as part of the World Wildlife Fund's 'Earth Hour'.

"We’re hoping people who see such a well-known local landmark so unusually dark will follow our lead and do the same in their own homes," said Liz Flynt, senior VP of administration for Larry Flynt Publications. "A group effort such as this can lead to real change."

Earth Hour is part of the global Vote Earth campaign. The Golden Gate Bridge, the Colosseum and the Sydney Opera House have all doused their lights in support of the initiative.

The Saturday night blackout puts Flynt in sync with Donny and Marie Osmond, who will lead a symbolic gesture on the Las Vegas Strip as hotels and casinos cut the hellish glare for one hour.
