LOS ANGELES—Reigning AVN Male Performer of the Year and Best Leading Actor Seth Gamble brings his eight-part epic Reckless to a close with the release today of the limited series' grand finale—"What's in the Bag?"—from Wicked Pictures.
Produced by four-time AVN Director of the Year Axel Braun, Reckless culminates in a climax that reunites protagonist Silas Knight (Gamble) with his wife Harlow (Ivy Wolfe), who are joined by CPA Scarlet Page (Ryan Reid) for a fiery threesome.
Commenting on the ensemble cast of Reckless, Gamble mused, "Performing is an art form, and every performer in Reckless is an artist expressing themselves. I had the privilege to pair emerging talents alongside legendary figures like Axel Braun and Lexington Steele, whom I look up to as both role models and, most importantly, good friends. Their acting contributions, especially Axel's powerhouse performance in his non-sex role as Italian mob boss Dino Moretti, added incredible value to the project."
“Reckless was a labor of love for everybody involved,” said Braun. “It definitely had a very particular meaning for me, because when we shot it, I had already made the decision to retire, so it was a symbolic passing of the torch to the most talented new director on the scene, my best friend Seth Gamble. Producing this movie was a privilege, and being able to act alongside Seth was a thrill. Now, if anybody ever told you that filmmaking is a joyous experience, don’t believe them. It’s blood, sweat and tears. It’s stress, anger, fear and exhaustion, especially when you are as passionate and emotionally connected as I was, and as Seth is. But when it’s all done and the day comes when your project is finally out, the reward is absolutely glorious. Today is that day. Welcome to the Seth Gamble era.”
Continued Gamble, "Whether I'm crafting the final installment of an all-sex film or weaving a narrative tapestry like Reckless, I always immerse myself in the emotional perspective of the viewer. In the case of Reckless, I keep in mind that fans develop a personal connection with the characters. This connection creates an emotional bond, which is why an unsatisfying conclusion can feel like a betrayal. Audiences invest in these characters and their journeys, so it's essential to provide closure that really resonates. Consistency in character development and writing is key."
Gamble was quick to laud his co-stars, particularly Wolfe's portrayal of Harlow Knight: "Ivy Wolfe truly excelled in her role as Harlow. Our on-screen chemistry and passion were indescribable. She has emerged as one of our industry's brightest stars. She’s delivered powerful performances in gonzo movies, dazzled in feature blockbusters and kicked ass alongside the biggest names. And as Reckless reveals, Ivy can also sing. She provided masterful vocals in a key sequence of the shoot and shocked the cast and crew by hitting difficult high notes with ease. They had no clue about her ability to sing and were mesmerized by her vocals.”
Ryan Reid's portrayal of Scarlet also drew Gamble's praise: "Ryan exudes a seductive and enchanting charisma, while maintaining an air of mystery. Her performance feels entirely authentic, a blend of exhibitionism and guarded secrecy. The intimacy she shared in her sex scene with Ivy and I added a major layer of intensity to the movie's final act."
Returning again to the work of his entire cast as a whole, Gamble offered, "From the charm and skill of David Lee, Nathan Bronson, Tommy Pistol and Mick Blue, to the beauty, talent and charisma of Ivy Wolfe, Ryan Reid, Kenna James, Nicole Doshi and Kenzie Anne, each performer made bold choices and remained true to them. The authenticity in their performances is the essence of naturalism, a rare find in any film, porn or mainstream."
The conclusion of Reckless, "What’s in the Bag?" starring Ivy Wolfe, Ryan Reid and Seth Gamble, is available now exclusively on Wicked.com.
