It's summer once again, and that means it's time for the 2019 Exotic Dancer (ED) Awards Show, which will be held Tuesday, August 13, at the Criss Angel Theater inside the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas during the Annual Gentlemen’s Club Expo.
The ED Awards are still the only awards show in the world honoring gentlemen’s clubs, club staff and feature entertainers, and in 2019 the multi-billion-dollar adult club industry will once again descend on Las Vegas to honor the best of the best. The 2019 ED Awards Show is presented in a brand partnership with Patron Tequila, and will be hosted by top comedian and Comedy Central star Chris Distefano.
The ED Awards Final Ballot will remain open for voting until next Monday, July 8. Those interested may register to vote here.
The ED’s Awards Show honors the country’s top gentlemen’s clubs, touring feature entertainers and club staff. The categories for clubs and entertainers have evolved over the years to keep pace with the industry’s evolution. Today, awards are given to clubs in four regions—East, South, Central and West—with designations for Club of the Year and “Small” Club of the Year in each region (a “small” club is determined by physical size or the size of the market in which the club is located). There are also club awards for “Feature” Club of the Year (clubs which book touring feature entertainers regularly), Urban Club of the Year, International Club of the Year (clubs outside of the U.S.), and Club Chain of the Year. The most prestigious club awards is Overall Gentlemen’s Club of the Year.”
In the Entertainer award category, there are six awards presented each year. They include Newcomer Entertainer of the Year, Club Favorite Entertainer of the Year, Adult Entertainer of the Year, International Showgirl of the Year, Miss ExoticDancer.com of the Year, and the top award for entertainers, Overall Feature Entertainer of the Year.
The criteria for the final Entertainer of the Year nominee has remained steady for the past several years: The nominee will not only receive support on the ED Awards Pre-Nomination ballot, but she will also represent the top “showgirl” entertainer who has had the most club bookings in the preceding 12-month period.
Of particular interest to adult content fans is the Adult Movie Entertainer of the Year, and this year, the nominees are Nicolette Shea, Brett Rossi, Romi Rain, Jayden Cole, Reya Sunshine, Katie Morgan, Nikki Delano, Sophie Dee, Richelle Ryan and Jessa Rhodes. Adult entertainment personalities such as Britney Amber, Elsa Jean, Ruby Ryder, Michelle Lynn, and Shay Lynn are nominated in other categories.
