- The John Stagliano-directed Evil Angel film, The Fashionistas swept the X-Rated Critics Organization Awards held here at a private industry-only function here. The film took home six awards, winning in every category it received a nomination in and director Stagliano was named Director of the Year. The star of the film, Belladonna received four awards including Female Performer of the Year. Evil Angel also won Video of the Year for Rocco Siffredi's The Ass Collector, Best Threeway Sex Scene for Jules Jordan's Trained Teens and Best Gonzo Series for Jordan's Flesh Hunter.

The evening was filled with Fashionistas victories, the same adult film that earlier in the year had swept the AVN Awards with ten victories, including Best Film and Best Director for Stagliano. There was a touch of the political from Veronica Hart expressing her disapproval of the current war in Iraq and performers Veronica Caine and Dave Cummings stating their belief in supporting the country's armed forces but mostly, it was an evening where the industry drank and laughed and awarded its own.
The Orgasmic Analist Award went to Belladonna, who accepted it quietly and simply with a "thank you" as she accepted all of her awards that evening other than one shout-out to Evil Angel for "helping [her] reach her potential."
Cream Dream was given to Ashley Blue who fellated the microphone in honor of her latest achievement.
New Stud award winner Manuel Ferrara met with the approval of Wicked Girls Jessica Drake, Devinn Lane and Sydnee Steele, with Lane noting that he had just "made her list". Ferrara apologized for his English and thanked Stagliano and Platinum X.
Orgasmic Oralist Kaylynn glowed from having received the award for her second time and when Shane's World picked up the award for Best Pro-Am Series Calli Cox reveled in another victory for the company saying, "They let us do the things we do best making these videos- having sex and having fun."
Super Slut award winner Catalina accepted without a stitch of clothing on. She thanked her scene mates and posed for the gadzillion camera flashes that went on before her, including one of Max Hardcore who beamed as she held her trophy. Equally luminous (but not unclothed) was Brandon Iron, winner of the Unsung Swordsman trophy who thanked many, including Dion Giarrusso for "saving [his] life". Unsung Siren Olivia Saint accepted her award from a twat-flashing Alana Evans.
Winner of Best Gonzo Series and Best Threeway Sex Scene for his work with Gauge and Aurora Snow in Trained Teens Jordan emphatically thanked Stagliano for his support.
Adam & Eve contract performer Carmen Luvana seemed slightly bewildered accepting the Starlet of the Year award but she piped up some Spanish phrases when co-host Stone praised her Puerto-Rican heritage and she posed for the cameras.
Erik Everhard accepted Male Performer of the Year and honored fellow male performers Lexington Steele, Mark Davis and others in his brief acceptance speech.
The Hall of Fame inductions went smoothly with feminist author/pornographer Susie Bright raving about how accepting the award was the best thing since winning a grade school spelling bee and Randy Spears thanking many for aiding him in his long career. Tiffany Mynx was extremely moved by her award and wept openly with De'Nyle and Stone hugging her and supporting her as she slowly got out her thank-yous. Ashlyn Gere was not present to accept her award due to a dance engagement and Andrew Blake, although present earlier in the evening, did not appear on stage to accept.
The Best DVD Award, given to Euphoria, was accepted for director Brad Armstrong and by Wicked's David Crawford. Armstrong thanked the staff and crew at Wicked and laughingly thanked Evil Angel for not releasing The Fashionistas on DVD in time for awards consideration.
Evil Angel General Manager Chris Norman accepted Video of the Year for The Ass Collector quickly. Presented with the Film of Year award, one of the many awards that Stagliano accepted for himself or on behalf of Rocco Siffredi throughout the course of the evening, Stagliano came on stage with wife Tricia Devereaux and Fashionistas art director Jim Malibu. Stagliano gave the best props to the excellent performances in his film at this point, saying, "I just want to say that I could never had made this movie the way I made this movie if it wasn't for the other directors and performers that raised the bar so that the level of sexuality in the business today is much stronger and better than it has ever been. I was taking advantage of the development of these people- of Belladonna, of Taylor [St. Claire] and Rocco [Siffredi] and all these people who are making sex better and better and better...All you guys who are doing strong sex, thank you very much."
