Erotic Heritage Museum To Hosts ‘Goddess’ Thursday, November 8

LAS VEGAS, NV—The Erotic Heritage Museum will be hosting local burlesque duo The Roommatez’ new variety show, Goddess Thursday, November 8. The show, which will feature four acts and a friendly "stage kitty," will be emceed by Las Vegas burlesque icon Miss Miranda Glamour, and will start promptly at 10 p.m. inside the EHM’s Jewel Box Theatre.

“The culture of sexuality is represented in so many ways—gender, race, sexual preference, and so much more—and live entertainment is one of the most delightful ways to experience that diversity,” said a Museum representative. “Burlesque, its history, and its many varied versions, are a big part of Las Vegas’ story. Ashley and Elyse have curated a fantastic showcase of burlesque performers of color, and we are thrilled to host The Roommatez’ show in our space. We look forward to seeing everyone attend and be entertained while showing their support for the local entertainment community, and, in particular, people of color.”

Hailing from California’s Bay Area, The Roommatez, Elyse Elaine and Ashleyy Secret, are actual roommates.

Elyse Elaine’s background in the San Francisco, Los Angeles, Seattle, and Portland burlesque scenes includes being a featured performer in the Hubba Hubba Revue, the Fishnet Follies, and Red Hots Burlesque, as well as a core member of the Bay Area Sideshow Crew. The resident choreographer for the Bay Area Flash Mob and Iconic Dance Collective, Elaine was co-producer for the extremely popular Womanopoly show, and held an 18-month residency at Supperclub San Francisco. Known for her raw, raunchy sex appeal mixed with glamour, Elaine’s background in burlesque and show production speaks for itself.

Ashleyy Secret was introduced to the burlesque scene six years ago, when she attended a Womanopoly show and met Elyse Elaine. A natural dancer since fourth grade with a love of stage and theatre, the Bay Area beauty brings a breath of fresh air to the art of burlesque; debuting as Goddess’s stage kitten, Secret’s real secret will only be revealed to those attending the show.

Since moving to Sin City with the specific goal of producing a show to shine the light on POC entertainers, The Roommatez have tested their formula, researched both the Vegas scene as well as performers nationwide, and have curated a variety show which gives performing artists of color a safe space to explore, create, and discuss all aspects of sexuality and body positivity.

“Ashleyy and I are so excited to show you all what we’ve been working on!” said Elyse Elaine. “We have learned so much in the process, and look forward to the growth and evolution of Goddess. We had no idea what we were truly getting ourselves into, and we have enjoyed every minute of this amazing rollercoaster ride!. Ashleyy and I are so proud of this project, and we are anxiously awaiting showtime.”

In addition to Elyse Elaine and Ashleyy Secret, Goddess features three eclectic performers and local legend Miss Miranda Glamour as MC:

Miss Miranda Glamour is a burlesque icon well-known in Las Vegas; a triple threat of producer/performer/MC, Miss Glamour has performed in bars, back alleys, and ballrooms since 2007, all with her unique combination of sass and sex appeal, and currently produces several shows in several Sin City venues, including the Double Down Saloon, The Phoenix Bar, and Artifice. With the heart of an angel and the mouth of a trucker, the foul-mouthed femcee looks forward to presenting the night’s entertainment to the crowd.

One of the performers involved I the show will be Farasha Desert Siren, who's well into exotic glamour. Captivatingly liquid, Las Vegas’ bellydancing showgirl is a sensual bronze goddess, known for her dynamic shimmies, passionate musicality, and sensual floorwork. Farasha began her career in the Middle Eastern supper clubs of Boston, landing a coveted Las Vegas contract in 2002 with the Aladdin/Desert Passage troupe. Farasha has performed all over the world, including Tokyo and Cairo, as well as locally at Caesars Palace, The Luxor, and more. She is a featured performer in the Baobab Theatre’s production Tribal Night, and is Producer of Bellydance at the Baobab Revue. She is, in addition to these, a very professional mermaid.

Another performer, DeMarcus Montrese, is a proud son of Sin City, born and raised, having been in entertainment and nightlife since he was 19 years old. The enigmatic Leo loves the attention that comes with entertaining and being in the spotlight, getting his true joy from seeing others smile as a result of his creativity.

NEON is a multifaceted performer and proud daughter of Sin City, Vegas born. A member of The Nuclear Bombshells and the official Aunty Entity of Wasteland Weekend, this mistress of musicality truly knows how to entertain a crowd, whether it be burlesque, fire, or even the erotic arts. Just like the iconic signage that lights up the Las Vegas Strip, NEON aims to leave attendees dazzled, amazed, and memorably entertained.

“This show is going to be an experience like no other,” says Ashleyy Secret. “It’s interactive, fun, intimate, entertaining, inappropriate… the list goes on and on. Definitely come check it out for yourself; I can only describe it so much. This will be a show you would want to see live and in person!”
