LAS VEGAS, NV—Freak shows used to be standard fare at traveling carnivals in the early and mid-20th century—but all that's changed in the modern era. The Erotic Heritage Museum is therefore announcing that it will be hosting Tuesday Thomas and Cyrus Naderpour’s modern version of the Freak Show! for a limited-run summer residency. The popular dark comedic variety show, which recently celebrated its third anniversary of sold-out shows in Los Angeles, returns to Sin City after a successful inaugural Vegas run in April.
Tuesday Thomas (who's appeared on E!, VH1, BBC’s World of Weird, The Comedy Store, MTV, and Laugh Factory) and Cyrus Naderpour (of Life on the F List, The Comedy Store, and Alternative Fact Report) produce and MC this strange and riotous collection of character and musical comedy, dark and twisted standup, WTF performance art, and the most bizarre, hardest rocking bands around The reputation for Freak Show! is such that producers from America’s Got Talent, The Gong Show, and The Voice regularly attend to scout out new talent.
“We are so thrilled to have one of the most popular sideshow-based variety shows in the country return to the EHM,” said an EHM representative. “Freak Show! is a celebration of everyone’s inner quirks, what makes them tick, and breaking social expectations. Those who missed Tuesday and Cyrus’ sold-out run this past spring here are recommended to get their tickets early. We’ve already had inquiries from past audience members about tickets, so it’s sure to be a packed house!”
Tuesday Thomas, known as the “Punk Rock Cher,” spent her young adult life as a gypsy, living and traveling throughout the United States. Her travels and deep experiences allowed her keen insight into the human condition, enabling her to mimic and create characters based on the eclectic people she met. Humor has saved Thomas from many of the perils affecting people with her conditions: anxiety and PTSD. As a proud, lifelong outsider, Thomas found her calling and home in knowing that her life and general weirdness brought others laughter, and enabled them to bring out their inner freakiness.
“Freaks come in all forms, shapes, and sizes,” said Thomas. “And no matter who you are, or what you’re going through, Freak Show! is here to let your freak flag fly, as you laugh your troubles away. So, naturally, we’re thrilled that popular demand has enabled us to come share our show with the Sin City audience.”
Cyrus Naderpour was born in Rome, immigrating to the U.S. when he was two years old. At the age of 24, after receiving his BS in Accounting from the University of Maryland, Naderpour moved to LA for a desk job. However, a snowboarding accident left him binging on standup specials in an opioid and weed-induced haze, prompting him to abandon his six-figure salary to become a standup comic, when not surfing, training MMA, or wearing onesies in public.
“It’s more than just a show; it’s a movement,” assessed Naderpour. “A movement of acceptance through non-comformity. Freak Show! lets you escape into a surreal world, where all flavors of the unique and strange are celebrated.”
