Eric Gutterman Named Operations Manager For Devil's Film

CHATSWORTH, Calif. - Adult industry sales veteran Eric Gutterman is starting a new chapter of his career as operations manager for Devil's Film.

"After working at Leisure Time/Barzoon for 20 years, it's time for me to move on," Gutterman said. "It's been a big part of my life that will be a memorable one. Starting March 31, I will be working with all the departments and especially with sales. I'll be working closely with Steve Volponi to bring new ideas into the sales and marketing end of Devil's Film."

Gutterman confirmed to AVN that he left his position as VP of sales and marketing at Leisure Time because the company's DVD distribution business is in the process of being sold.

"They are shutting down the distribution end of Leisure Time and just concentrating on what they started on in the very beginning with mail order," he said. "Basically, the way the DVD business is going, it was the least profitable end of the company so they decided to put their money into more lucrative aspects of the business."

Devil's Film owner Keith Repult and Gutterman are longtime friends, and the two are looking forward to working together.

"I’ve known Keith since he was a salesperson at AAA Novelties and Video, and when Keith started up Premiere Sales Group I was one of the first to support him," Gutterman said. "When he needed someone to oversee Devil’s Film last November, I had to turn down the job. With everything going on at Leisure Time, I called Keith up and he said he still needed an operations manager and if I wanted the gig, it was mine."

Born in New York, Gutterman moved to California with his family at six years old and grew up in Porn Valley. He entered the adult industry in 1982 when he took a job running a one-stop called California Video Distributors for Caballero owner Noel Bloom. He went on to work for VCA Pictures in 1985 before moving over to Leisure Time in 1987.

"It’s a weird feeling to be moving on, but I know that nothing lasts forever," Gutterman said. "Keith’s a great guy, and Devil's is a great company with a terrific line of product. It’s a new challenge in my life that I’m excited to take on."
