ePassporte Tsunami Relief Fund Hits $25,000 and Counting

Between donations to its Website and matching dollar-for-dollar contributions based on those donations, online payment service provider ePassporte has totaled nearly $25,000 raised for Asian tsunami relief efforts and counting, with plans to send the money to the American Red Cross Tsunami Relief Fund in February, ePassporte announced January 20.

“Since the beginning of the year, ePassporte has been accepting donations from its website and matching each donation dollar-for-dollar,” said chief Rand Pate in an announcement. “ePassporte will continue to match all contributions through January 31 up to the first $25,000 dollars or received funds.”

He said there’s still time to “make your money count twice,” hoping to donate at least $50,000 when the final tally is made at month’s end. Anyone who wants to donate should take advantage of having their dollar matched.”

“The majority of donations so far are from affiliates. Everything from $1 on up,” he told AVNOnline.com. “We need to get the word out better.”

The ePassporte announcement came three days after YNOTradio and ARS announced their plan for a live Webmaster auction January 24, beginning at 3 p.m. EST, with the proceeds going to the same Red Cross tsunami relief fund. The ten-hour auction is expected to include offerings like traffic, Webmaster board banner space, graphic design services, and possibly a trip to Jamaica.
