Aaron Brink, the former adult performer known as Dick Delaware, on Saturday night became the MMA Xtreme Superfight world heavyweight champion with a technical knockout victory in Tijuana, Mexico.
Brink stopped Lloyd "Kadillac" Marshbanks, the former King of the Cage heavyweight champion, two minutes into the second round of their fight in front of 4,500 fans at the Caliente Race Track Arena.
Brink, who ended his six-month retirement from mixed martial arts to challenge Marshbanks, improved his professional record to 27-19-1 in a career that has spanned nine years. The 6-foot-3, Huntington Beach native entered the bout weighing just 224 pounds compared to Marshbanks' 276-pound frame. But Brink's speed and striking ability was easily enough to subdue the bigger fighter and effectively revive his career.
"I'm back and I dominated," Brink told AVN. "I trained my ass off for this. I've been involved in some type of training every single day for last five months."
Brink, who recently placed in a pro-am surfing competition, said that it was his jumping knee to Marshbanks' face that spelled the beginning of the end.
"It rocked him and he went for a shot, and I got behind him and mounted him and started throwing elbows and punches and the referee continued to let me strike him until he was a bloody mess," he said, adding that his opponent remained on the canvas for several minutes after the bout was called.
Brink recently signed with Ron Kort's emerging MMA promotion, New Era Fighting, and will be a part of the organization's "Toughest Man in the World" contest this year. The finalist of that contest will get a bout with Brink, with the winner going on to face the infamous Kimo Leopoldo in August.
Brink, who retired from a four-year run in porn in late 2006 with over 600 scenes to his credit, said he would fight again for the MMA Xtreme promotion, which has requested he compete next in Mexico City and then Lima, Peru, before returning to Tijuana. First, he has to heal his broken right hand that he suffered on Saturday.
"Because of the angle of punches in MMA, there are injuries that happen and there is nothing you can do," Brink said.
Brink said he also would like to compete against Kimbo Slice, the street fighter who has a large underground following on the Internet. But he would like to face Slice under MMA rules.
