Dave Gallegos is going it alone with X-Worx, his own company, after 13 years in the adult industry, most recently as sales manager for Extreme Associates 2.0 and Evolution Erotica.
He begins taking orders this week, and the first titles will be shipped the first week in November.
“I’ve always wanted to have my own company, do the stuff that I want to do and shoot the stuff that I want to see. And this is the opportunity for me to do it,” Gallegos told AVN.com.
He’s starting off with two lines: X-Vision, a wall to wall sex line, and Muff, an all-girl series.
“X-Vision,” he said, “is very stylized, pretty looking but with all the hardcore sex, anal, cum-swapping. But it’s very polished up from a gonzo.”
Muff, too, is also “kind of stylized, but hardcore, all anal, with squirting, lots of girls.” He’s also planning a gonzo line, as yet untitled.
Gallegos got his start with Pipeline Distribution, then moved on to New Sensations, Seymore Butts and Sineplex before hooking up with Rob Black at Extreme 2.0. “I’ve been around the block a couple of times,” he said.
He himself directs X-Vision under the name David Edwards. The other lines are in the hands of Miles Long, an actor who has moved behind the camera. “He’s my main guy right now, as far as production goes,” he said.
Gallegos plans to ship two titles a month for the first six months. “I want to focus on the quality and on production and building the name, not try to pump them out like a factory. I don’t just want the same old movie—there’s plenty of that out there.
“I’m not going to say our stuff is different. It’s just going to be polished up from what you normally see. We’re not reinventing the wheel, we’re just polishing it. So far we’re really happy with what we’re shooting.”
