CRUISING WITH JAKE: An Intimate Chat with Gay Webmaster Jake Cruise, Part 2

In Part 1 of AVNOnline.com’s exclusive interview with popular gay webmaster Jake Cruise, the man behind JakeCruise.com and the brand new StraightGuysForGayEyes.com talked about why some gay men seem to gravitate toward straight porn, his humble beginnings in the gay adult online market, and how he created the Jake Cruise persona. In part 2 of this informative and entertaining interview, Cruise offers his opinions on hetero guys who like to have sex with other men (you know you’re out there, boys), his future plans for his Web sites, and how it feels to be living every gay man’s dream of having sex with hot men.

Ken Knox: So, Jake, you talked a little bit about your technique as a videographer, but I’d like to know how you get your models to loosen up, as it were, for you. Do you have a formula for that?

Jake Cruise: Hmmm, I guess because I don’t really have any ulterior motives. I guess I’ve developed a [formula] over the years. But like I said, I’ve never been into seducing straight men. I know there are a lot of guys out there that all they want to do is seduce straight men. I’ve never found that to be something I’m interested in. But one thing I found out, a lot of guys when they first come to me, they’re a little bit wary. They don’t know who I am. I always let them do whatever up to the point that they’re comfortable with. I tell them outright, “We’re here to have fun. If there’s something you’re not comfortable with, you tell me.” Once they get a sense of that, we spend a couple of ours together and they relax. They’re more open to do more in the future because of that. That’s what happened to [latest JakeCruise.com discovery] Ethan. When he first came to me, he was very, very nervous. He just turned 21 and hadn’t done anything gay. I first did a massage thing with him, and that, no pun intended, relaxed him around me, and he was willing to do a servicing scene [with me sucking him off]. He kept approaching me to do more and more and more, so now he’s having full-blown gay sex, both as a bottom and top.

That’s fucking hot. Does he still identify as straight?

Oh no, he’s straight. I mean, I’ve had sex with girls. Don’t you say this. I’ll lose half my members. [Laughs.] Actually, the main model I use for the StraightGuys site, I ended up having sex with her, and I’m still gay. Having sex with another guy does not make you gay. It doesn’t even make you bi, in my point of view. He still wants to have sex with women. He wants to marry a woman.

His loss. [Laughs.] Do you ask the guys why they wanted to get into porn?

It’s interesting. Most of them will want to do it because of the money. The younger ones seem to want to do it because it’s exciting, and those are the ones that usually disappear. Because it’s usually thrilling at first, and then it’s like, “OK, I’ve done that.” With Ethan, he wants to do it because he’s an exhibitionist. He’s a beach volleyball player, and he just loves showing off his body and showing off everything and just… Unfortunately, he says he’s straight – that his girlfriend won’t let him do straight things, only gay things. In my three and a half years I’ve been doing this, there have been so many different shades of gay, if you will.

People are so varied in their emotions and how they react to things that I no longer question things like sexuality. I’ve had a model whose wife sat in on the scenes. She was there reading a magazine in the corner while I was having sex with her husband. I’ve had a guy come in only wanting to do straight sex, and I said, “I’m not ready to start shooting that yet, but I could service you for $800.” And he’s like, “Um, I don’t think I could do that.” And about two hours later, he calls me and said that his girlfriend said, “Are you crazy? Of course you’re going to do that.” I’ve had straight guys say, “I will only bottom,” which to me was like, “What?” When it was explained to me, now I get it. It’s a lot easier to be passive. If you’re not attracted to someone, you don’t have to get an erection. You can just be passive. So things that I would not understand, I just don’t question anymore. So I have no reason not to believe this guy when he says his girlfriend won’t let him do straight sex, only gay sex. You would think it would be the other way around, but everyone has their different concept and motivation.

Describe your philosophy behind making porn. Why this line of work?

Porn is entertainment. And the way I make it, it’s fun. It’s not demeaning in any way, shape, or form for anyone. We all have fun. And basically I’m much more proud of showing two men making love than, for example, showing two guys boxing and beating the shit out of each other. So that’s my point of view, and I would really rather see more porn take on that sort of concept: People understand that there’s more value in lovemaking than there is in violence and fighting.

Besides the straight guy site, do you have any other future plans?

I also own the domain DreamBoys.com, which at this point is probably going to be a photographic, collaborative photographic site with semi-nudes, but no masturbation, that type of stuff, depending on the model and the photographer. But basically I want it to be a place where photographers can submit work they’ve done with guys that have to pass the mustard as far as being “dream boys.” And then the photographers would get a cut, sort of a commission, for memberships, et cetera, depending on their viewership. So that’s gonna be the next one that’s in the works. But my main goal right now is to launch StraightGuysForGayEyes and get that up and rolling.

What about JakeCruise.com?

I’d like to get the JakeCruise membership up as much as possible, through marketing and stuff, and bring a lot more really hot guys. I mean, I’m not gonna be in every scene. That’s never been my intention, so there are a lot of things where, I mean, it’s two guys. I might be in it at the very, very beginning, like the first five minutes of the movie, and then they’re off and running by themselves.

Obviously, you’re living every average Joe Gay Guy’s dream. I’m sure you know that. Do you ever sit around and go, “Wow, I can’t believe this is my job?”

Oh absolutely. Like with [my other model] Michael; this guy is absolutely one of the most gorgeous men I’ve ever seen in my life, and I fucked him, ya know? I got to fuck him on camera! I didn’t get to kiss him because he had agreed to kiss, but I said, “I’m not gonna give you my cold.” I had just gotten it. I’m a nice guy. I could have not said anything and given him a cold, but I wasn’t about to do that. But, oh, I got to do everything else! [Laughs.] We did everything. He fucked me. I got to fuck him. It was hot. So yeah, at times like that I go, oh my god! This is incredible! But my ultimate fantasy is still out there. I haven’t reached that yet.

And what’s that?

Gorgeous twins. Yeah. Really, really cute, hot, identical twin brothers. Or they could be brothers that look somewhat alike. They don’t have to be identical twins. But that is still my fantasy. So I haven’t fulfilled my own fantasy yet. I’m still looking. If you know of any twins, show them my way.

Only after I’ve had my way with them first. What do you hope for StraightGuys4GayEyes?

I hope it becomes very popular. I’ve put a lot of effort into this and have been developing it for one full year.

OK, last question. Finish this sentence for me: My camera is to me like...

My paintbrush – only the models keep moving!
