Comedian Esther Ku to Perform at 2019 AVN Awards Show

CHATSWORTH, Calif.—Comedian Esther Ku has been named the comedic co-host for the 2019 AVN Awards Show presented by MyFreeCams. Known for her various TV roles, including MTV’s Girl Code and MTV2’s Wild ’n Out, Ku also appeared on NBC’s Last Comic Standing. AVN Media Network also announced the 2019 AVN Trophy Girls: newcomers Gianna Dior and Athena Faris. The AVN Awards, the sexiest awards show of the year, will take place on January 26, 2019, at The Joint inside the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas. Today’s announcement was made by AVN CEO Tony Rios.

“AVN is proud to have an all-female lineup for the 2019 Awards,” stated Rios. “Esther brings a fresh, new approach to the show and we are looking forward to her contribution. We’re also excited for our newcomers, Gianna Dior and Athena Faris, who will join as the AVN Awards Trophy Girls.”

“Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve dreamed of hosting the AVN Awards,” gushed Ku. “I feel so lucky!”

Esther Ku is an internationally touring stand-up comedian who hails from Chicago. In addition to the aforementioned shows, she has also been featured on Comedy Central's @Midnight, The Jack & Triumph Show, Punchline TV and The Jim Gaffigan Show. Ku is a member of the all-female sketch show Sorry Not Sorry on go90. She has been a guest on such radio shows as The Joe Rogan Experience, Getting Doug with High, The Opie Show with Jim Norton on Sirius XM, Jenny McCarthy's Dirty Sexy Funny Show on Sirius XM Stars and The Playboy Morning Show. Howard Stern selected Ku as a finalist in the Hottest Funniest Chick and she has appeared on The Artie Lange Show on DirecTV.

Ku joins a comedic A-list of past AVN Awards hosts that includes Dave Attell, Lisa Lampanelli, Jim Norton, Aries Spears, Rebekah Kochan, April Macie, Thea Vidale and the late great Robert Schimmel.

Ku will be co-hosting the 2019 AVN Awards with adult superstars Romi Rain and Bailey Rayne. The musical guest will be Grammy-nominated artist and EW’s entertainer of the year, Cardi B.

The 2019 AVN Awards will be held on January 26, 2019, as part of the AVN Adult Entertainment Expo, which runs January 23-26. Both the 2019 AVN Awards and the AVN Adult Entertainment Expo are presented by MyFreeCams.
